Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and wasting. Despite the sustained presence of satellite cells in their skeletal muscles, muscle regeneration in DMD patients seems inefficient and unable to compensate for the continuous muscle fiber loss.
