ABSTRACT: German landrace gilts were fed an adequate protein diet (AP, 12% CP) throughout their whole pregnancy. Subsequently muscle transcriptome profiles of the offspring were analysed at prenatal (94 dpc) and postnatal stages (1, 28, 188 dpn) per stage offspring of 3 gilts were collected for expression profiling

Inadequate maternal protein supply during gestation represents an environmental factor that affects physiological signaling pathways with long-term consequences for growth, function, and structure of various tissues.
