Comparison of gene expression in human sarcoma cell line SaOS-2 cells between differentiation and maintenance culture


ABSTRACT: We cultured human sarcoma cell line SaOS-2 with or without differentiation and compared gene expression patterns between both cultures by microarray. The experiments were either in triplicate or duplicate.

Sclerostin, coded by SOST, is a secretory protein that is specifically expressed in osteocytes and suppresses osteogenesis by inhibiting WNT signaling. The regulatory mechanism underlying SOST expression remains unclear mainly due to the absence of an adequate human cell model.
