ABSTRACT: Systemic inflammation can lead to neuro-inflammation with both acute consequences and long-lasting deleterious effects, such as cognitive decline and the exacerbation of neurodegenerative disease progression. We investigated the role in regulating this process of the activation of the transcription factor Nrf2 in brain endothelial cells.
