Mh SP17 biofilms on Hydrophobic Organic Compounds (HOCs)
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus SP17 strain forms biofilms on water-insoluble hydrophobic organic compounds which it can use as the sole source for carbon and energy. Gene expression profiles were determined in biofilm cells grown on hexadecane (an alkane), triolein (a triglyceride) and planktonic cells growing exponentially on acetate (a water-soluble organic acid). Three independent biological replicates were used for each condition.
