Synthetic genome evolution provides a dynamic approach for systematically and straightforwardly exploring evolutionary processes. Synthetic Chromosome Rearrangement and Modification by LoxP-mediated Evolution (SCRaMbLE) is an evolutionary system intrinsic to the synthetic yeast genome that can rapidly drive structural variations.
