Ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) regulates DNA synthesis and repair in all organisms. The mechanism of <i>Escherichia coli</i> RNR requires radical transfer over a proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) pathway spanning ∼32 Å across two protein subunits.
