Batillaridae is a common gastropod family that occurs abundantly in the shallow coastal zone of the intertidal mudflats of the northwest Pacific Ocean, Australasia, and North America. In this family, Batillaria attramentaria is known for its biological invasion and colonization in estuarine and intertidal zones.
