Project description:BackgroundTheta burst stimulation (TBS) has garnered widespread attention in the scientific community, but a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of TBS research remains absent. This study aims to fill this gap by elucidating the characteristics, hotspots, and trends in TBS publications over the past 20 years using bibliometric methods.MethodsWe retrieved TBS-related publications from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2023, from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The analysis focused on articles and review articles. Data were processed using the bibliometric package in R software, and CiteSpace and VOSviewer were employed for bibliometric and knowledge mapping analyses.ResultsA total of 1,206 publications were identified, with 858 included in the analysis. The annual publication volume showed a fluctuating upward trend. Leading institutions and authors were predominantly from the United States of America (USA) and European countries. Core journals and publications also primarily originated from these regions. Current research hotspots include the clinical applications and mechanisms of TBS in neurorehabilitation and depression. TBS cerebellar stimulation has emerged as a promising therapeutic target. Future research is likely to focus on dysphagia, cognitive impairments, and post-traumatic stress disorder.ConclusionThis bibliometric analysis provides an overview of the basic knowledge structure, research hotspots, and development trends in TBS research over the past two decades. The findings offer valuable insights into the evolving landscape of TBS research and its potential directions.
Project description:BackgroundIn recent years, numerous studies have suggested that the gut microbiota and its metabolites are closely related to myocardial infarction. Utilizing insights from these research findings may be advantageous in the prevention, treatment, and prognosis of myocardial infarction. We have employed bibliometric methodology to summarize the progress made in this research area over the past 20 years, identify the hotspots, and highlight the developmental tendencies, providing a reference for future research in this field.MethodsWe searched the content related to this field in the Web of Science Core Collection database, with a time range from 2001 to 2023. We used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Scimago Graphica software to visualize the search results.ResultsWe included 889 reports in this study. The country with the most publications was China, while the country with the greatest influence was the United States. An analysis of institutions showed that the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences had the largest volume of publications, whereas the Cleveland Clinic had the most influential ones. An author analysis showed Stanley L Hazen to have published the most and to also have been the most influential researcher. An analysis of all the journals publishing articles related to the search terms showed that PLoS One journal had the highest number of publications (18 articles), while Atherosclerosis journal had the most influential articles. The results of our reference analysis showed a strong association between Trimethylamine N-oxide and myocardial infarction. We found that increased intestinal permeability may be related to the progression of cardiovascular diseases, a high-fiber diet may help in the prevention of diseases such as myocardial infarction, and populations with a high intake of red meat may have an increased risk of myocardial infarction. Keyword analysis suggested that 'cardiac fibrosis' and 'major bleeding' were promising research directions in the future, and supplementing food intake with short-chain fatty acids was looked upon as a promising approach to treating coronary heart disease.ConclusionThe gut microbiota are closely related to myocardial infarction, and investigating this relationship is crucial for the prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction, where interdisciplinary research and international cooperation are indispensable.
Project description:BackgroundThere is a crosstalk between gut microbiota (GM) and cancer immunotherapy (CI). The purpose of this study is to use bibliometric analysis to identify the highly cited papers relating to GM/CI and explore the research status and development trends of the GM/CI research.MethodsA literature search regarding GM/CI publications from 2012 to 2021 was undertaken on July 4, 2022. The article titles, journals, authors, institutions, countries, total citations, keywords, and other information were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The Bibliometrix of R package and VOSviewer were used for bibliometric analysis.ResultsA total of 665 papers were extracted. The number of papers has increased rapidly over the past decade, especially after 2018. The United States and China had the most publications and made great contributions to this field. Th5e Univ Texas MD Anderson Canc Ctr and Univ Paris Saclay were absolutely in the leading position in GM/CI. The most influential authors were Zitvogel L and Routy B. Frontiers in Immunology had the most publications and Science had the most total citations. Historical direct citation analysis explained the historical evolution in GM/CI. Highly cited papers and high-frequency keywords illustrated the current status and trends of GM/CI. Four clusters were identified and the important topics included the role of GM and antibiotics in CI, the methods of targeting GM to improve CI outcomes, the mechanism by which GM affects CI and the application of ICIs in melanoma. "Tumor microbiome", "proton pump inhibitors" and "prognosis" may be the new focus of attention in the next few years.ConclusionThis study filtered global publications on GM/CI correlation and analyzed their bibliometric characteristics, identified the most cited papers in GM/CI, and gained insight into the status, hotspots and trends of global GM/CI research, which may inform researchers and practitioners of future directions.
Project description:BackgroundAn increasing number of studies have found that the gut microbiota was related to the occurrence and development of lung cancer. Nonetheless, publication trends and research hotspots in this field remain unknown. The study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically identify publication trends and research hotspots in the field of gut microbiota and lung cancer research within a 12-year panorama.MethodsPublications related to the gut microbiota and lung cancer between 1 January 2011 and 25 October 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. The online analytic tool of the WoSCC was used to analyze various bibliometric parameters. The bibliometrics website, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer were used to identify research trends and hotspots.ResultsA total of 375 publications related to the gut microbiota and lung cancer were extracted from WoSCC and identified for analysis. The number of annual publications has grown rapidly since 2018 and reached a peak in 2022. China was the most prolific country in this field, with 120 publications, followed by the United States (114), with the highest H-index of 31. Additionally, France ranked the highest with an average of 133 citations, while the leading institution and journal were the Unicancer and the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, respectively. Interestingly, Routy Bertrand was the most prolific author and also the most cited author in terms of H-index and citations. Reference and keyword burst detection indicated that the research hotspots mainly included 1) the gut microbiota directly affects the efficacy of immunotherapy for lung cancer, 2) the application of different gut bacteria on lung cancer, and 3) the mechanism of the gut microbiota on lung cancer.ConclusionThe findings of this study revealed the general publication trends and evolving research hotspots in the field of gut microbiota and lung cancer at a global level. The research hotspots focused on the clinical application of the gut microbiota combined with immunotherapy in lung cancer and its mechanism. The findings of this study provide new perspectives on the field, which may shed light on a beneficial impact on further etiological studies, diagnosis, and treatment for lung cancer.
Project description:BackgroundEpigenetics denotes heritable alterations in gene expression patterns independent of changes in DNA sequence. Epigenetic therapy seeks to reprogram malignant cells to a normal phenotype and has been extensively investigated in oncology. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of epigenetic therapy in cancer, providing a comprehensive overview of current research, identifying trends, and highlighting key areas of investigation.MethodsPublications concerning epigenetic inhibitors in cancer spanning 2004 to 2023 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer assessed current status and focal points. Evolutionary trends and bursts in the knowledge domain were analyzed using CiteSpace. Bibliometrix facilitated topic evolution and revealed trends in keywords. National, institutional, and author affiliations and collaborations were also examined.ResultsA total of 2,153 articles and reviews on epigenetic therapy in oncology were identified, demonstrating a consistent upward trend over time. The United States (745 papers), University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (57 papers), and Stephen B. Baylin (27 papers) emerged as the most productive country, institution, and author, respectively. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified five primary clusters: tumor, DNA methylation, epigenetic therapy, expression, and immunotherapy. In the past 5 years, newly emerging themes with increased centrality and density include "drug resistance," "immunotherapy," and "combination therapy." The most cited publication reviewed current understanding of potential causes of epigenetic diseases and proposed future therapeutic strategies.ConclusionIn the past two decades, the importance of epigenetic therapy in cancer research has become increasingly prominent. The United States occupies a key position in this field, while China, despite having published a large number of related papers, still has relatively limited influence. Current research focuses on the "combination therapy" of epigenetic drugs. Future studies should further explore the sequencing and scheduling of combination therapies, optimize trial designs and dosing regimens to improve clinical efficacy.
Project description:Background and objectiveBiologics have revolutionized the management of plaque psoriasis and are flourishing. We aimed to construct a knowledge structure in this field through bibliometrics, analyze research trends and cutting-edge hotspots to inspire future research directions, and provide valuable references for clinical decisions.MethodsPublications on biologics for plaque psoriasis in the Web of Science database core collection from 2004 to 2023 were searched. Bibliometric analysis and scientific knowledge mapping were performed with R, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software.Results2,672 articles written by 9,474 authors from 67 countries were included in the study. The number of annual publications has steadily increased over the last 20 years. The most prolific countries, institutions, and authors were the United States, Novartis, and Prof. Reick K., respectively. Reference analysis categorized the research base of the field into 10 main clusters. "Efficacy" and "safety" were the most frequent keywords, and cluster analysis categorized the research in this area into four groups. Burst detection captured current hot keywords including interleukin (IL)-17 inhibitors, IL-23 inhibitors, "drug survival," "discontinuation," "Covid-19," "real-world," and "clinical features."ConclusionGlobal publications on biologics research in plaque psoriasis have grown steadily and rapidly over the past two decades. Efficacy and safety are the highest topics of concern for researchers, and IL-17 inhibitors, IL-23 inhibitors, real-world studies, efficacy prediction, and retreatment after biologics failure or discontinuation are current research hotspots.
Project description:ObjectiveIn the past decade, thousands of original articles focus on labor analgesia have published. However, little has been published in the literature that includes a bibliometric analysis of labor analgesia. Therefore, this study is designed to analyze the current status of research on labor analgesia over the past ten years and explore potential directions for the future.MethodsWe retrieved the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) for labor analgesia articles published from 2013 to 2023 and extracted the data from the literature. To perform the bibliometric analysis, we used CiteSpace (6.2. R5) and VOS viewer (1.6.19) as our primary analysis tools.ResultsA total of 2406 articles were included, and the number of publications has increased steadily in the last ten years. The United States was the leading contributor to the area, and Harvard University was the most productive institution. The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology was the most cited and influential journal. The most co-cited reference was "Epidural versus non-epidural or no analgesia for pain management in labour". The labels of the co-citation cluster have identified the characteristics of 5major clusters, such as "postpartum depression", "programmed intermittent epidural bolus", "childbirth experience" "intrapartum maternal fever" and "dural puncture", which play important roles in this field. Keywords co-occurrence and keywords burst detection showed that "vaginal birth", "postpartum depression", "maternal fever", "inflammation", "systematic review", "guidelines", "decreased risk" and "scale" were the most recent and most prominent topics of labor analgesia.DiscussionThis study provided a global review of labor analgesia using bibliometric and visual techniques to provide an intuitive understanding of this topic and identify hotspots and research trends. Notably, intrapartum fever and postpartum depression have emerged as hotpots and trends in labor analgesia research, reflecting the current research landscape.

This study is envisaged to evaluate the contemporary scenario of TCM in conjunction with atherosclerosis over the preceding decade while also identifying forthcoming research trends and emerging topics via the lens of bibliometric analysis.MethodsLiterature pertaining to TCM and atherosclerosis, circulated between January 1, 2012 and November 14, 2023, was garnered for the purpose of this research. The examination embraced annual publications, primary countries/regions, engaged institutions and authors, scholarly journals, references, and keywords, utilizing analytical tools like Bibliometrix, CiteSpace, ScimagoGraphica, and VOSviewer present in the R package.ResultThis field boasts a total of 1,623 scholarly articles, the majority of which have been contributed by China in this field, with significant contributions stemming from the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moreover, this field has received financial support from both the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Basic Research Development Program. Project description:To analyze hotspots and trends in renal cell carcinoma (RCC)-macrophage research using bibliometric analysis, although numerous studies on macrophages in RCC have been recently reported, understanding the progressive trends in this field remains challenging. Publications focused on macrophages in RCC were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection. VOSviewer, Citespace, and Bibliometrics online platforms were used to visualize hot topics and global trends in RCC-macrophage research. In total, 778 papers were collected. China produced the most articles; however, the United States accounted for the largest number of citations. Oncology journals published the most articles, and these were cited most frequently. Based on keyword analysis, "prognosis," "immunotherapy," "tumor microenvironment," and "immune infiltration" represented the primary research hotspots. In summary, RCC-macrophage studies have emerged as a key research focus; particularly, incorporating multiomics data and applying artificial intelligence for predictive modeling have demonstrated significant potential. Our study suggests that the resistance mechanism of immune checkpoint inhibitors and the interaction between macrophages and immune checkpoint inhibitors will be pivotal areas for future research.

However, it is still plagued by various complications, for which no satisfactory therapy has yet been identified. Understanding the mechanisms underlying these post-transplant complications may be beneficial to enhance patient outcomes. This study utilized bibliometric analysis to assess present publication trends and focal points in the field of animal experimental studies on lung transplantation, aiming to provide insights into potential areas for future research.MethodsUtilizing CiteSpace software, the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology, R package bibliometrix and VOSviewer, an analysis of current publication trends and hotspots in the area of animal experimental research for lung transplantation was carried out for the period spanning from 2004 to 2023. The English articles were searched in the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC).ResultsA total of 995 articles on animal experimental research on lung transplantation over the past two decades were retrieved. Rats, mice and swine were the most commonly used animal models, with orthotopic lung transplantation, ischemia-reperfusion (IR), and ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) being the most frequently employed model of lung transplantation in animals. The leading contributed countries in this area were USA, Canada, Japan and China. Washington University and Shaf Keshavjee were acknowledged as the most influential institute and scholar, respectively. The top 10 main clusters identified through co-occurrence cluster analysis included, ex-vivo lung perfusion, EVLP, obliterative bronchiolitis, necroptosis, bronchiolitis obliterans, non-heart-beating donor, donation after circulatory death, xenotransplantation, hydrogen sulfide and alveolar macrophage. Current research focused on lung IR injury, lung transplant, hypoxia, and differentiation, as revealed by keyword burst detection.ConclusionsOver the past 20 years, global publications on animal experimental research for lung transplantation have grown rapidly. The current research hotspots focus on lung IR injury, hypoxia and differentiation during lung transplantation. Exploring the potential synergistic effects of EVLP and necroptosis inhibition in more depth could offer valuable information for improving lung transplant outcomes. Our analysis presents a detailed overview of the current state of animal experimental research in lung transplantation, evaluating current publication trends and focal points and providing significant insights for future research efforts.
