Glucocorticoid resistance syndrome is a rare genetic condition characterized by generalized or partial target-tissue insensitivity to glucocorticoids and a consequent hyperactivation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. Clinical manifestations may include mineralocorticoid and/or androgen excess without manifestations of Cushing syndrome.
