Bacteremia caused by Clostridium intestinale.

ABSTRACT: We describe a case of Clostridium intestinale bacteremia in a previously healthy adolescent female presenting with fever and abdominal pain. The bacterium was definitively identified via 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This is the first report, in the world literature, of human infection caused by this microorganism.
