On nine ground spiders from Xishuangbanna, China (Araneae, Gnaphosidae), including two new genera and seven new species.

ABSTRACT: Species of the family Gnaphosidae Banks, 1892 were surveyed in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, and nine species were found including two new genera and seven new species. The new monotypic genera are Meizhelangen. nov., with the type species Meizhelanmuhongsp. nov. (♂♀) and Yuqilingen. nov., with the type species Y.lujunyisp. nov. (♂♀). Five additional new species are described: Allomicythussuochaosp. nov. (♂♀); Hongkongialiutangsp. nov. (♂♀); Sernokorbaruanxiaoersp. nov. (♂♀), Synaphosusleihengsp. nov. (♂♀) and Sy.lijunsp. nov. (♂♀). The unknown male of A.kamurai Ono, 2009 and unknown female of H.wuae Song & Zhu, 1998 are described for the first time.

Project description:Clubionid spiders from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China are studied. A total of seven genera and 13 species have been found, including two new genera with one new species each, i.e., Ramosatidia Yu & Li, gen. nov., with R.situ Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) as the type species and Sinostidia Yu & Li, gen. nov., with S.shuangjiao Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) as the type species. Five additional new species are Sinostidiadujiao Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), Matidiaxieqian Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), Nusatidiachangao Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), N.mianju Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♀), and N.subjavana Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♀). The following genera and species are reported from China for the first time: Malamatidia Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001, Pteroneta Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001, Malamatidiazu Jäger & Dankittipakul, 2010, Nusatidiaaeria (Simon, 1897), N.camouflata Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001, Porrhoclubionapteronetoides (Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001), and Pteronetaultramarina (Ono, 1989). Malamatidiachristae Jäger & Dankittipakul, 2010 syn. nov. is a junior synonym of Malamatidiazu. Nusatidiarama Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001 syn. nov. is synonymised with N.aeria (Simon, 1897).

Project description:Seven new species of jumping spiders collected from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden in Yunnan, China, are diagnosed and described: Charippus yinae sp. nov. (♂♀), Chinattus inflatus sp. nov. (♂), Indomarengo yui sp. nov. (♂), Phintella banna sp. nov. (♂♀), P. mii sp. nov. (♂♀), Simaetha menglun sp. nov. (♂♀) and S. pengi sp. nov. (♂♀). Charippus yinae sp. nov. is the second species of the genus Charippus Thorell, 1895, which was previously known only from one sex.

Project description:Two new genera and eight new species of jumping spiders from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) are diagnosed, described, and illustrated. The new genera are Dendroicius gen. nov. (type species D. hotaruae sp. nov. (♂♀)) and Megaeupoa gen. nov. (type species M. yanfengi sp. nov. (♂♀)). The new species are Colyttus yiwui sp. nov. (♂♀), Euophrys xuyei sp. nov. (♂♀), Foliabitus weihangi sp. nov. (♂♀), Nigorella mengla sp. nov. (♂♀), Onomastus chenae sp. nov. (♂♀), and Synagelides platnicki sp. nov. (♂♀). A new combination is proposed: Megaeupoa gravelyi (Caleb, 2018), comb. nov., ex Brettus Thorell, 1895. Two new synonyms have been proposed: Irura prima (Żabka, 1985), syn. nov. with Irura mandarina Simon, 1903; Evarcha digitata Peng & Li, 2002, syn. nov. with Ptocasius montiformis Song, 1991.

(♂♀), C. duanbi Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀), C. gou Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂), and C. wuquan Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♀). In addition, Sinocanthium Yu & Li, gen. nov., is described with the type species S. shuangqiu Yu & Li, sp. nov. A key to cheiracanthiid genera distributed in East and Southeast Asia is provided.

Project description:A new species of the genus Bannana Tong & Li, 2015 and a new species of the genus Trilacuna Tong & Li, 2007 are recorded from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province: Bannanazhengguoi Tong & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀) and Trilacunaaoxian Tong & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀). An identification key to species of the genus Bannana from Xishuangbanna is provided. Detailed diagnoses, descriptions, and photomicroscopy images of new species are provided.

Project description:Nine new species of the orb-weaver spider family Araneidae Clerck, 1757 from Menglun Town, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China are described: Acusilastongisp. nov. (♂♀), Chorizopesyuisp. nov. (♂♀), Chorizopesoidesguoisp. nov. (♂♀), Deionechenisp. nov. (♀), D.yangisp. nov. (♂♀), Hypsosingapullasp. nov. (♂♀), Mangorabaiisp. nov. (♂♀), M.cephalasp. nov. (♂♀) and Miloniagemellasp. nov. (♂♀). The genus Milonia Thorell, 1890 is recorded from China for the first time. The previous description of Chorizopesoideswulingensis (Yin, Wang & Xie, 1994) from Libo County, Guizhou by Mi and Wang (2018) refers to Chorizopesoidesannasestakovaesp. nov. (♂♀). Diagnostic photos of the habitus and copulatory organs of the new species are provided.

Hotwheels gen. nov., a new ground spider genus (Araneae, Gnaphosidae) from southwest China.

Project description:A new monotypic ground spider genus, Hotwheelsgen. nov., is described, with the type species H.sisyphussp. nov. (♂♀) from southwest China. This new genus is not assigned to any of the known subfamilies of Gnaphosidae, belonging only to the Echemus group of genera. It resembles Synaphosus Platnick & Shadab, but it can be differentiated by the presence of a median apophysis. Descriptions, illustrations and a records map are provided.
