In Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Rv3806c is a membrane-bound phosphoribosyltransferase (PRTase) involved in cell wall precursor production. It catalyses pentosyl phosphate transfer from phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate to decaprenyl phosphate, to generate 5-phospho-β-ribosyl-1-phosphoryldecaprenol.
