Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is associated with the development of many B-cell lymphomas, including Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease. The virus alters a diverse range of cellular molecules, which leads to B-cell growth and immortalization.
