Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of clinically and genetically heterogeneous disorders characterised by night blindness, constriction of visual field, and dystrophic changes of the retina. Previous genetic studies have shown extensive allelic and non-allelic genetic heterogeneity of RP.
