Intercellular cross-talk between osteoblasts and osteoclasts is important for controlling bone remolding and maintenance. However, the precise molecular mechanism by which osteoblasts regulate osteoclastogenesis is still largely unknown. Here, we show that osteoblasts can induce Ca(2+) oscillation-independent osteoclastogenesis.
