We recently showed that the class Ic ribonucleotide reductase from the human pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis uses a Mn(IV)/Fe(III) cofactor to generate protein and substrate radicals in its catalytic mechanism [Jiang, W., Yun, D., Saleh, L., Barr, E.
