Intratumoral innate immunity can play a significant role in blocking the effective therapeutic spread of a number of oncolytic viruses (OVs). Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDIs) are known to influence epigenetic modifications of chromatin and can blunt the cellular antiviral response.
