Hsp110 proteins are relatives of canonical Hsp70 chaperones and are expressed abundantly in the eukaryotic cytosol. Recently, it has become clear that Hsp110 proteins are essential nucleotide exchange factors (NEFs) for Hsp70 chaperones.
