Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number is increased in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), in Burkitt lymphoma and Epstein-Barr virus-transformed lymphoblastoid cell lines, and in T cells activated via the T-cell receptor.
