ABSTRACT: Lanthanide triisopropoxides catalyze a rapid, tandem MPV reduction/Brook rearrangement/aldol sequence between silyl glyoxylates and aldehydes that achieves catalytic turnover through alkoxide transfer from a strain-release Lewis acidic silacycle.
