Crystallization and preliminary X-ray diffraction analysis of a protease-resistant mutant form of human galectin-8.


ABSTRACT: A crystal of a protease-resistant mutant form of human galectin-8, a tandem-repeat-type galectin with two carbohydrate-recognition domains, was obtained using the hanging-drop method and was found to belong to the tetragonal space group P4(3)2(1)2, with unit-cell parameters a = 78.93, b = 78.93, c = 132.05 A. Diffraction data were collected to a resolution of 3.4 A.
