Three cases of Moraxella osloensis meningitis: a difficult experience in species identification and determination of clinical significance.

ABSTRACT: We had three cases of Moraxella osloensis meningitis. The species identification was impossible by conventional and commercial phenotypic tests. However, we could identify the species using the 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Determination of clinical significance was difficult in one patient. All three patients recovered by appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
