Epigenetics in polycystic ovary syndrome: a pilot study of global DNA methylation.

ABSTRACT: The percent global methylation of peripheral blood DNA was not significantly altered in 20 women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) compared with 20 controls. The study of specific tissues and target genomic regions will be required to further determine whether epigenetic alteration influences the development of PCOS.
