Catena-Poly[[[aqua-manganese(II)]-di-μ-sulfato-[aqua-manganese(II)]-μ-N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)hexane-1,6-diamine] hexa-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the polymeric title compound, {[Mn(2)(SO(4))(2)(C(30)H(36)N(6))(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O}(n), the two Mn(2+) ions are bridged by two sulfate anions to form dinuclear complexes, and these dinuclear species are linked by the hexa-dentate ligand N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)hexane-1,6-diamine (tphn), forming a one-dimensional chain structure running in the [101] direction. The repeat unit of the polymer, Mn(2)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)(tphn), is disposed about a twofold axis passing through the centre of the dinuclear unit. The coordination geometry around the Mn centre is distorted octa-hedral. Two methylene groups are each disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))]ClO(4), consists of a cationic [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))](+) complex and a perchlorate anion. In the complex, the Mn(2+) ion is seven-coordinated in an approximately penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment by six N atoms from the hexa-dentate N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)-cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine (tpdach) ligand and one O atom from a perchlorate anion. The complex displays inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings (centroid-to-centroid distance 4.133?Å). Moreover, there are weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Cl atom and two O atoms of the perchlorate are disordered, with a site-occupancy factor of 0.59?(2) for the major component.

Project description:The title compound, [Li(2)(SO(4))(C(3)H(7)NO(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a coordination polymer in which the β-alanine residues remain in the zwitterionic form. Project description:The structure of the title compound, {[Cu(SO(4))(C(6)H(7)N)(4)]·4.393H(2)O}(n), consists of Cu(2+) ions surrounded in a square-planar fashion by 4-methyl-pyridine ligands, forming two crystallographically independent Cu{H(3)C(C(5)H(4)N)}(4) units that are both located on crystallographic inversion centers. The Cu(4-methyl-pyridine)(4) units are, in turn, connected with each other via bridging sulfate anions, leading to the formation of infinite [Cu{H(3)C(C(5)H(4)N)}(4)SO(4)](n) zigzag chains along [001]. The completed coordination spheres of the Cu(2+) ions are slightly distorted octa-hedral. The axial Cu-O bonds are elongated [average length = 2.42 (4) Å] compared to the equatorial Cu-N bonds [average length = 2.043 (2) Å]. The inter-stitial space between the chains is filled with uncoordinated water mol-ecules that consolidate the structure through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. One of the five crystallographically independent solvent water mol-ecules is partially occupied with an occupancy factor of 0.396 (4). Due to hydrogen bonding between symmetry-equivalent water mol-ecules across inversion centers, several of the water H atoms are disordered in 1:1 ratios over mutually exclusive positions. The crystal under investigation was found to be non-merohedrally twinned in a 0.789 (1):0.211 (1) ratio by a 180° rotation around the reciprocal b axis.

Project description:In the title salt, [(CH3)2NH2][Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4], one type of cation and anion is present in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom in the complex anion, [Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4](-), has a tetra-gonal bipyramidal [4 + 2] coordination caused by a Jahn-Teller distortion, with the aqua ligands in equatorial and two O atoms of tetra-hedral HSO4 and SO4 units in apical positions. Both types of ions form sheets parallel to (010). The inter-connection within and between the sheets is reinforced by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, respectively, involving the water mol-ecules, the two types of sulfate anions and the ammonium groups.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C(3)H(7)NO)(6)][Fe(2)Cl(6)O], was obtained unintentionally as a product of an attempted synthesis of heterometallic complexes with Schiff base ligands using manganese powder and FeCl(3)·6H(2)O as starting materials. In the [Fe(2)OCl(6)](2-) anion, the O atom and the Fe atom occupy positions with site symmetry [Formula: see text] and 3, respectively, resulting in a linear Fe-O-Fe angle and a staggered conformation. The octa-hedrally surrounded cation (site symmetry [Formula: see text]) and the [Fe(2)Cl(6)O](2-) anion are alternately stacked along [001].
