Catena-Poly[[[aqua-manganese(II)]-di-μ-sulfato-[aqua-manganese(II)]-μ-N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)hexane-1,6-diamine] hexa-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the polymeric title compound, {[Mn(2)(SO(4))(2)(C(30)H(36)N(6))(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O}(n), the two Mn(2+) ions are bridged by two sulfate anions to form dinuclear complexes, and these dinuclear species are linked by the hexa-dentate ligand N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)hexane-1,6-diamine (tphn), forming a one-dimensional chain structure running in the [101] direction. The repeat unit of the polymer, Mn(2)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)(tphn), is disposed about a twofold axis passing through the centre of the dinuclear unit. The coordination geometry around the Mn centre is distorted octa-hedral. Two methylene groups are each disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {(C(6)H(18)N(2))(0.5)[MnBr(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(H(2)O)]}(n), contains the repeat unit of the complex anion and one-half of a hexane-1,6-diammonium cation that is located on a twofold rotation axis. In the anionic polymer, the Mn(2+) ions are bridged by the pyridine-carboxyl-ate (pic) anion ligand, forming a chain structure along the c axis. The Mn(2+) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by one N atom of the pyridine ring, two O atoms of the two carboxyl-ate groups, one O atom of the water mol-ecule and two Br atoms. The compound displays inter-molecular N-H⋯O, N-H⋯Br, O-H⋯Br and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. There may also be inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.992 (4) Å.

Project description:The cation of the salt, [Mn(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4), lies on a center of inversion, the center lying midway along the ethyl-ene chain of the bridging N,N'-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl-ene)ethane-1,2-diamine ligand. The Mn atom is chelated by two atoms N atoms of this bridging ligand, and is also coordinated by four N atoms of another ligand. The Mn atom is seven-coordinated in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.784 (3) Å. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))]ClO(4), consists of a cationic [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))](+) complex and a perchlorate anion. In the complex, the Mn(2+) ion is seven-coordinated in an approximately penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment by six N atoms from the hexa-dentate N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)-cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine (tpdach) ligand and one O atom from a perchlorate anion. The complex displays inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings (centroid-to-centroid distance 4.133?Å). Moreover, there are weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Cl atom and two O atoms of the perchlorate are disordered, with a site-occupancy factor of 0.59?(2) for the major component.

Project description:The title compound, [Li(2)(SO(4))(C(3)H(7)NO(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a coordination polymer in which the β-alanine residues remain in the zwitterionic form. The crystal structure consists of corrugated sheets of [LiO(4)] and [SO(4)] tetra-hedra parallel to (010) with the β-alanine mol-ecules located between the sheets. The two independent Li(+) cations are four-coordinated by O atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The crystal structure is formed by stacking of alternate organic and inorganic layers along the a axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.

Each of the Mn(II) ions lies on an inversion centre. The L ligands and N(3) (-) anions bridge adjacent Mn(II) centres, generating a polymeric chain running along the [110] direction. Adjacent polymeric chains are arranged in a two-dimensional network parallel to the (001) plane, linked by C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title salt, [(CH3)2NH2][Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4], one type of cation and anion is present in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom in the complex anion, [Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4](-), has a tetra-gonal bipyramidal [4 + 2] coordination caused by a Jahn-Teller distortion, with the aqua ligands in equatorial and two O atoms of tetra-hedral HSO4 and SO4 units in apical positions. Both types of ions form sheets parallel to (010). The inter-connection within and between the sheets is reinforced by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively, involving the water mol-ecules, the two types of sulfate anions and the ammonium groups.
