Catena-Poly[[[tetra-aqua-samarium(III)]-di-μ-isonicotinato-κO:O'] chloride].

ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, {[Sm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]Cl}(n), the unique Sm(III) atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four isonicotinate ligands and four water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coodination environment. The Sm(III) atoms are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups of two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along the c-axis direction. These chains are cross-linked through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework, with channels which accommodate the chloride anions.

Project description:The title compound, [CuEu(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(8)(H(2)O)(4)](n), displays a one-dimensional chain structure. The four-coordinate Cu(II) ion (site symmetry ) adopts a trans-CuN(2)O(2) geometry and is bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands. The Eu(III) ion adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by four O atoms from bridging carboxyl-ate groups of four isonicotinate ligands, two O atoms from chelating carboxyl-ate groups of one isonicotinate ligand and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules; adjacent Eu(III) ions in the chain are related by inversion. The water mol-ecules interact with the ligands via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds [O⋯O = 2.782 (3)-2.881 (3) Å], which link the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title one-dimensional polymeric compound, {[Co(C10H11O2)2(H2O)3]·2H2O} n , contains one CoII cation situated on a centre of inversion, one-half of a coordinating water mol-ecule, one 2,4,6-tri-methyl-benzoate (TMB) anion together with one coordinating and one non-coordinating water mol-ecule; the TMB anion acts as a monodentate ligand. In the anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 84.9 (2)°. The CoII atom is coordinated by two TMB anions and two water mol-ecules in the basal plane, while another water mol-ecule bridges the CoII atoms in the axial directions, forming polymeric chains running along [001]. The coordination environment for the CoII cation is a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The coordinating and bridging water mol-ecules link to the carboxyl-ate groups via intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, enclosing S(6) ring motifs, while the coordinating, bridging and non-coordinating water mol-ecules link to the carboxyl-ate groups and the coordinating water mol-ecules link to the non-coordinating water mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, enclosing R22(8) and R33(8) ring motifs. Weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title homochiral three-dimensional heterometallic complex, [AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(3)(C(2)H(3)O(2))](n), the eight-coordinate Sm(III) ion displays a bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by two O atoms from one acetate ligand, four O atoms from four bridging isonicotinate ligands and two O atoms from two terminal isonicotinate ligands. The four-coordinate Ag(I) ion adopts a tetra-hedral geometry, being bonded to two N atoms from two bridging isonicotinate ligands and two O atoms from two acetate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging isonicotinate and acetate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Mg(H2P2O6)(H2O)4] n , is built up from (H2P2O6)(2-) anions bridging Mg(2+) cations into chains extending parallel to [011]. The Mg(2+) ion is located on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated by the O atoms of two (H2P2O6)(2-) anions and four water mol-ecules. The centrosymmetric (H2P2O6)(2-) anion has a staggered conformation whereby the tetra-valent phospho-rus atom is surrounded tetra-hedrally by three O atoms and by one symmetry-related P atom. A three-dimensional O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded network of medium strength involving the P-OH group of the anion and the water mol-ecules is present.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(5)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), the imino-diacetate (ida) ligands link the Cu(II) atoms into polymeric zigzag chains running along [010]. Each Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by one N and two O atoms from an ida ligand, one O atom from the neighbouring ida ligand and one water O atom. Project description:The title compound, [K(C(6)H(4)N(5))(H(2)O)(2)](n), was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of KOH with 4-(5-tetra-zolio)pyridine. The K atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment and is coordinated by two axial N atoms from the organic ligand and by four water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane. The mol-ecules as a whole are located on crystallographic mirror planes; the K atom is also located on an inversion center. Both the water mol-ecules and the organic ligands act as bridges to link symmetrically the adjacent K atoms into polymeric chains parallel to the c axis. O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the water O atoms and aromatic ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.80?(2)?Å] between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings build up an infinite three-dimensional network.

Geometric parameters are in the usual ranges. The cadmium cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms at equatorial sites and two O atoms from two ligands at the axial sites. The material is composed of one-dimensional extended polymeric chains in which two Cl atoms bridge Cd atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The reaction of lanthanum nitrate and 4-ethyl-benzoic acid (EBAH) in aqueous solution yielded the title polymer, [La(C(9)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(9)H(10)O(2))(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one La(III) atom, three 4-ethyl-benzoate (EBA) ligands, one neutral EBAH ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each La(III) ion is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from six bridging-bidentate EBA ligands, one O atom from a monodentate EBAH ligand and one water O atom in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The adjacent La(III) ions are linked by the carboxyl-ate groups of EBA ligands in a bridging-bidetate coordination mode, resulting in an infinite chain structure along the c axis. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate groups and carboxyl H atoms are formed within the one-dimensional polymer. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.717 (7) and 0.283 (7).
