Catena-Poly[[aqua-dipyridine-copper(II)]-μ-fumarato].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(H(2)O)](n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer based on pyridine and fumarate ligands. Each Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms belonging to two fumarate anions, two N atoms from two pyridine mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule, in a square-based pyramidal geometry. Each fumarate anion bridges two Cu(II) cations through the two carboxyl-ate groups in a bis-monodentate fashion to form a one-dimensional polymeric chain along the c axis. Neighbouring chains are linked together to form a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane via hydrogen bonding inter-actions between uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms and coordinated water mol-ecules of adjecent chains.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(3)H(10)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), consists of two Cu(II) atoms, half each of two propane-1,3-diamine ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules, all lying on crystallographic mirror planes, also one fumarate dianion and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule in a general position. The Cu(C(3)H(10)N(2))(H(2)O) units are linked via fumarate dianions into a zigzag chain running along the a axis. A longer Cu-O distance [2.873 (3) Å] is to a water mol-ecule bridging equivalent Cu(II) atoms in adjacent chains, forming a three-dimensional framework. One of the Cu(II) atoms is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment and the other is in a pseudo-octa-hedral geometry of the [5+1] type. O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title complex, {[Cu(C(12)H(12)O(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) ion lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by two O atoms from two 2,3,5,6-tetra-methyl-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (TBDC) ligands and two N atoms from two pyridine ligands in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The TBDC ligands act as bridging ligands, forming chains along [110]. These chains are further linked into a two-dimensional network via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The solvent water mol-ecule lies on a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(3)O(3))Cl(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinate in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), there are two symmetry-independent one-dimensional coordination polymers related by a non-crystallographic inversion center. Within the polymers, the Cu(II )atoms, coordinated by the water mol-ecule and the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands, are bridged by 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions which act as tridentate ligands; the carboxyl-ate groups exhibit monodentate and symmetric bidentate coordination modes. The Cu(II) atoms show a strongly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the two symmetry-independent coordination polymers form another one-dimensional polymeric structure via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups.
