Poly[octa-aquadi-?-phosphato-trinickel(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(3)(PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(8)](n), which was synthesized hydro-thermally, all the Ni atoms are located in slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environments. Two phosphate groups and two Ni atoms share a centrosymmetric four-membered ring and an eight-membered ring such that the four-membered ring is inside the eight-membered ring. The eight-membered rings are connected with the other Ni atoms (lying on centres of symmetry) through phosphate anions, generating a one-dimensional chain structure. Adjacent chains are connected through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Co(4)(C(2)O(4))(PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), there are layers composed of the phosphate anions and two independent Co(II) cations. These layers are parallel to (001) and are bridged by the oxalate anions that are situated in special positions on centres of symmetry. One independent Co atom has an octa-hedral coordination, while the second independent Co atom is coordinated in a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination that includes the water mol-ecule. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and oxalate O atoms.

Redetermination of poly[aquadi-μ(3)-oxy-diacetato-dicopper(II)].

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(4)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)](n), has a two-dimensional layer structure. The Cu atom has a distorted octa-hedral (CuO(6)) environment and is coordinated by four carboxyl-ate group O atoms from three different oxydiacetate ligands in a planar arrangement and one half-occupancy water mol-ecule and an ether O atom in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, weak intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal packing. The structure has already been published [Whitlow & Davey (1975 ▶). J. Chem. Soc. Dalton. Trans. pp. 1228-1232]; this redetermination reports the structure with higher precision.

Poly[dimethyl-ammonium [aquadi-μ(2)-oxalato-yttriate(III)] trihydrate].

Project description:The title complex, {(C(2)H(8)N)[Y(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O}(n), was obtained accidentally under hydro-thermal conditions. The Y(III) atom is chelated by four oxalate ligands and one water mol-ecule resulting in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. Each oxalate ligand bridges two Y(III) atoms, thus generating a three-dimensional network with cavities in which the ammonium cations and lattice water mol-ecules reside. Various O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the crystal structure. The title complex is isotypic with the Eu and Dy analogues.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Na(4)Ni(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(H(2)O)(12)](n), the Ni(II) cation occupies an inversion centre and is coordinated by the carboxyl groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Two independent Na(I) atoms are connected by the carboxyl and sulfonate groups of the sulfoisophthalate ligands anions and water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The sulfoisophthalate ligands and coordinated water mol-ecules bridge the Ni(II) and Na(I) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. Weak π-π stacking is present between parallel benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9349 (10) Å]. Extensive O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [CoNa(4)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(H(2)O)(12)](n), is a three-dimensional coordination polymer bridged by sulfoisophthalate trianions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and by four water mol-ecules in a distorted CoO(6) octa-hedral geometry. Two independent Na(I) atoms also have a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by water, carboxyl-ate O and sulfonate O atoms. An extensive O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network is present in the crystal structure, as well as weak π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9553 (11) Å].

Project description:The title trinuclear complex, [Ni(3)(C(9)H(7)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(8)], possesses a crystallographically imposed center of symmetry occupied by one Ni(II) ion. Each of the three Ni(II) ions is coordinated by two O and four N atoms, respectively, in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions link the mol-ecules into ribbons propagating in the [100] direction.

Project description:The product obtained from the reaction of pyridine-2,3-di-carb-oxy-lic acid and hydrated copper(II) chloride in hot aqueous NaOH solution was determined by low temperature X-ray diffraction to be [Cu3(C6H4NO3)4(OH)2(H2O)2] n or [Cu3(μ-OH)2(μ-nicNO)4(H2O)2] n (nicNO is pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate N-oxide), a structure obtained from room temperature data and reported previously. The present determination is improved in quality and treatment of the H atoms. A Hirshfeld surface analysis of the inter-molecular inter-actions is presented.

Project description:The title compound, {[BaPt(CN)(4)(C(12)H(26)N(2)O(4))]·0.5H(2)O}(n), is a two-dimensional coordination polymer in which the sheets are oriented approximately parallel to the (01) set of crystal planes. In the crystal structure, disordered water mol-ecules (half occupancy) connect the sheets into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. An N-H⋯N inter-action is also present. The shortest Pt⋯Pt contacts are 7.5969 (4) Å by an inversion relationship and 7.6781 (4) Å by translation along the a axis.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(6)(C(13)H(10)NO(2))(4)(N(3))(8)(CH(3)OH)(8)]·6CH(3)OH, consists of a centrosymmetric hexa-nuclear [Ni(II) (6)(C(13)H(10)NO(2))(4)(N(3))(8)(CH(3)OH)(8)] mol-ecule and six methanol solvent mol-ecules. In the hexa-nuclear unit, the six octa-hedrally coordinated Ni(II) atoms are linked by four μ(1,1,1)-azide and four μ(1,1)-azide bridges, forming a face-sharing Ni(6)N(8) tetra-cubane-like unit with four missing corners. The Ni(II) atoms are further bridged by four μ(1,2)-carboxalate groups. Neighbouring hexa-nuclear units are connected via N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional structure. Although the H atoms of the methanol OH groups could not be located, O⋯N/O contacts between 2.65 and 2.86 Å suggest that these mol-ecules participate in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title trinuclear Ni(II) compound, [Ni(3)(C(11)H(11)N(2)O(3))(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], contains two independent mol-ecules which are located on individual inversion centres. The central Ni atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and is further N,O-chelated by two N-(2-methyl-propano-yl)salicyloylhydrazidate anions in an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry. The terminal Ni atom is coordinated by a pyridine ligand and is further N,N',O-chelated by an N-(2-methyl-propano-yl)salicyloyl-hydrazidate anion in a distorted square-planar coordination geometry. Weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is observed in the structure.
