ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(16)H(20)N(2)O(4)S, exhibits a V-shape structure with a dihedral angle of 77.5?(11)° formed by the two benzenel rings. The mol-ecular packing is stabilized by intra-molecular and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds as well as ?-? [3.738?(3)?Å] and C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(21)N(3)O(5), was prepared by the reaction of 3-benzamido-5-nitro-benzyl methane-sulfonate with diethano-lamine and is an inter-mediate in the synthesis of DNA minor-groove-binding polybenzamide agents capable of being conjugated to additional biologically active species. The asymmetric unit contains two independent mol-ecules, which differ only in the orientations of the hydroxy-ethyl groups. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into one-dimensional chains.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(24)N(2)O(3), was synthesized by reduction of the corresponding Schiff base. The mol-ecule does not possess crystallographic or non-crystallographic symmetry. The dihedral angle between the oxygen-bridged benzene rings is 67.98 (8)°. Both hydroxyl groups are involved in O-H⋯O intra-molecular hydrogen bonding. The mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to the (010) plane by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvate, C(17)H(18)N(4)O(3)·C(2)H(6)OS, shows the disubstituted urea derivative to adopt an almost planar geometry (r.m.s. deviation for non-H atoms = 0.132?Å); the mol-ecule has non-crystallographic twofold mol-ecular symmetry. This conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds. The components of the crystal are connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, whereby both amine H atoms are connected to a DMSO O atom, and C-H?O contacts involving the DMSO H and urea carbonyl atoms, forming a supra-molecular chain along the c axis. The chains associate via C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(2)(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)(C(10)H(20)N(4)O(4))], contains a centrosymmetric binuclear unit in which the oxamide ligand (located on a centre of symmetry) acts in a bis--tetra-dentate fashion and the picrate anion binds to nickel(II) in a bidentate mode. The Ni(II) atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination with axial elongation. The binuclear mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensonal supra-molecular network extending parallel to (100).
