ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(17)H(17)Cl(2)NO(2), the NH group exhibits an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to the carbonyl O atom and no inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, in contrast with previous studies. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 58.57 (5)°. The ester group is planar, the greatest deviation from planarity being 0.0135 (11) Å for the ether O atom.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(10)Cl(2)N(4)O(8), the methyl-acetate and dichloro-anilinic groups are oriented at dihedral angles of 57.73 (8) and 62.44 (4)°, respectively to the dinitro-sustituted benzene ring. S(5) and S(7) rings are formed due to intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into C(8) chains along the a axis. Further C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains in pairs, forming a polymeric network.

In each mol-ecule an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(7) ring. The atoms of the propyl grouping of one mol-ecule are disordered over two orientations with occupancies of 0.666 (6) and 0.334 (6). Project description:The conformation of the N-H and C=O bonds in the structure of the title compound (N26DCPBA), C(13)H(9)Cl(2)NO, are anti to each other, similar to that observed in N-phenyl-benzamide (NPBA), N-(2-chloro-phen-yl)benzamide (N2CPBA), N-(2,3-dichloro-phen-yl)benzamide (N23DCPBA) and other benzanilides. The asymmetric unit of N26DCPBA contains two mol-ecules. The bond parameters in N26DCPBA are similar to those in NPBA, N2CPBA, N23DCPBA and other benzanilides. The amide group, -NHCO-, makes a dihedral angle of 30.8 (1)° with the benzoyl ring in the first mol-ecule and 35.1 (2)° in the second mol-ecule of the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings (benzoyl and aniline) is 56.8 (1)° in the first mol-ecule and 59.1 (1)° in the second mol-ecule. N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds give rise to infinite chains running along the a axis of the crystal structure.
