Allylic substitutions that afford alpha-substituted allylboronates bearing B-substituted tertiary or quaternary carbon stereogenic centers are presented. C-B bond-forming reactions, catalyzed by chiral bidentate Cu-NHC complexes, are performed in the presence of commercially available bis(pinacolato)diboron.
