Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi is highly homogeneous. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been shown to be valuable markers for molecular typing of S. enterica serovar Typhi. Here, we used a hairpin primer real-time PCR assay for SNP typing of S. enterica serovar Typhi isolates.
