(S)-(-)-6-(4-Bromo-phen-yl)-2,3,5,6-tetra-hydro-thia-zolo[2,3-b]imidazolium hydrogen oxalate.

ABSTRACT: The structure of the title compound, C(11)H(12)BrN(2)S(+)·C(2)HO(4) (-) (common name 6-bromo-levamisole hydrogen oxalate), is stabilized mainly by hydrogen bonds. Hydrogen oxalate anions form parallel coplanar chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, while there are N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the 6-bromo-levamisole cations and oxalate anions. Both five-membered rings from the 6-bromo-levamisole mol-ecule have a twist conformation. The mol-ecule has an extended conformation, with the 4-bromo-phenyl substituent positioned equatorially with N-C-C-C and C-C-C-C torsion angles of 39.8?(3) and 100.4?(3)°, respectively.

Project description:The six-membered thia-zine ring in the title compound, C16H15NOS, adopts a half-chair conformation, with the S atom forming the back of the chair. The base of the chair has a slight twist reflected in the r.m.s. deviation (0.0756 Å) of those five atoms from the plane defined by them. The phenyl substituents are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle 87.06 (9)°]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains parallel to the c axis through C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C16H15BrN2S2, the central imidazo[2,1-b]thia-zole fragment is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.012?Å), and the fused 5,6,7,8-tetra-hydro-benzene ring adopts an unsymmetrical half-chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the imidazo[2,1-b]thia-zole and benzene planes is 18.25?(4)°. The terminal methyl-sulfanyl substituent lies practically within the benzene plane [the dihedral angle between the corresponding planes is 7.20?(10)°] and is turned toward the C-Br bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules form infinite chains along [100] via secondary Br?N inter-actions [3.1861?(16)?Å]. The chains are arranged at van der Waals distances.

Project description:The crystal structures of isomeric rac-2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)-3-phenyl-2,3,5,6-tetra-hydro-4H-1,3-thia-zin-4-one (C16H14N2O3S) (1) and (2S)-2-(3-nitro-phen-yl)-3-phenyl-2,3,5,6-tetra-hydro-4H-1,3-thia-zin-4-one (C16H14N2O3S) (2) are reported here. While 1 crystallizes in a centrosymmetric space group, the crystal of 2 chosen for data collection has mol-ecules only with (2S) chirality. This is the result of spontaneous resolution during crystallization, as the synthesis produces a racemic mixture. A crystal with (2R) mol-ecules was also found in the same crystallization vial (structure factors available). The six-membered thia-zine ring in both 1 and 2 displays an envelope conformation with the S atom forming the flap. The aryl rings in both structures adopt an approximate V shape with angles between their planes of 46.97 (14)° in 1 and 58.37 (10)° in 2. In both structures, the mol-ecules form layers in the ab plane. Within such a layer in 1, one of the O atoms of the nitro-phenyl group accepts a C-H⋯O hydrogen bond from the CH group at position 5 of the thia-zine ring of a mol-ecule of opposite chirality, forming chains along the a-axis direction. Each of the thia-zine rings also participate in C-H⋯O bonds with the same carbon atom as above, resulting in chains along the b-axis direction, albeit of monochiral type. Adjacent layers are consolidated along the c-axis direction by pairs of parallel hydrogen bonds (C-H⋯O type) between the nitro-phenyl groups of enanti-omers. In 2, the two C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds contribute to chain formation along the b-axis direction. Weak edge-to-face inter-actions between the aryl groups of neighbouring mol-ecules in 1, and C-H⋯π inter-actions between a thia-zine ring CH group and a phenyl group of a neighboring mol-ecule in 2 are also observed.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C24H19BrN2O5S, the pyrimidine ring is in a flattened half-chair conformation and the 4-acet-oxy-phenyl group is substituted axially to this ring. The thia-zole ring is essentially planar [with a maximum deviation of 0.012 (2) Å for the N atom] and forms dihedral angles of 17.65 (13) and 88.95 (11)° with the bromo- and acet-oxy-substituted benzene rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 81.84 (13) Å. In the crystal, pairs of weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of inversion dimers. A weak C-H⋯π inter-action and π-π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5903 (14) Å are observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(9)BrN(2)S, was prepared by the reaction of 1-bromo-2-(2,2-dibromo-vin-yl)benzene with 1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2(3H)-thione. The thia-zolo[3,2-a]benz-imidazole fused-ring system is nearly planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.049?(4)?Å. This mean plane is oriented at a dihedral angle of 71.55?(17)° with respect ot the bromo-phenyl ring. ?-? stacking is observed in the crystal structure, the centroid-centroid distance between the thia-zole and imidazole rings of adjacent mol-ecules being 3.582?(2)?Å.
