ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(12)H(14)O(4), is an important inter-mediate in the synthesis of biologically active heterocyclic compounds. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules. There are also C-H?? contacts between the benzene ring and the methyl-ene groups.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(19)N(3)O(3)S, crystallizes with two closely similar independent mol-ecules related by a pseudotranslation of c/2. Each mol-ecule consists of three approximately planar moieties centred on the N(2)CS group and the two ring systems. The packing involves classical H bonds of the form N(amide)-H⋯S and N(hydrazine)-H⋯OC, together with various weak hydrogen bonds and N(hydrazine)-H⋯π inter-actions. The overall packing is three-dimensional, but layer substructures parallel to the xz plane can be readily identified. Each mol-ecule forms a topologically equivalent set of hydrogen-bond inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(10)H(9)Cl(2)NO(3), the conformations of the amide O atom and the carbonyl O atom of the acid segment are anti to the H atoms of the adjacent -CH(2) groups. The C=O and O-H bonds of the acid group are in relatively rare anti positions with respect to each other. This is an obvious consequence of the concerted effects of both the all-anti mol-ecular conformation and the intermolecular hydrogen bond donated to the amide carbonyl group. In the crystal, mol-ecules are packed into infinite chains through inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C15H16N2O3, contains two independent mol-ecules, which present a different conformation of the carb-oxy-lic acid side chain [C-C-C-OH torsion angles = 65.3?(7) and -170.1?(5)°]. In both mol-ecules, the di-hydro-pyridazinone ring adopts a geometry inter-mediate between a twisted-boat and a half-chair conformation, while the central six-membered ring is almost in a half-boat conformation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?Ok (k = ketone) hydrogen bonds, generating [01-1] chains. Aromatic ?-? stacking contacts between the benzene and the di-hydro-pyridazinone rings [centroid-centroid distance [3.879?(9)?Å] are also observed.
