Terbium(III) hydrogendiphosphate(V) tetra-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: The Tb atom of the title compound, TbHP(2)O(7)·4H(2)O, is coordinated by the O atoms of three symmetrically independent water mol-ecules and by five O atoms belonging to HP(2)O(7) (-) groups. The TbO(8) polyhedra are inter-connected by the diphospate anions, forming a three-dimensional network which is additionally stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonding between water mol-ecules and O atoms of the HP(2)O(7) (-) anions. Uncoordinated water mol-ecules are situated in channels and are connected via hydrogen bonds with the framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)Tb(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]NO(3)·4H(2)O, consists of one-half of the C(2)-symmetric trinuclear coordination cation, one-half of the C(2)-symmetric nitrate anion and two water mol-ecules. In the coordination cation, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from a bridging-chelating carboxyl-ate group of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anion, completing a distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment. The Tb(III) atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is nine-coordinated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions forming an N(3)O(6) donor set. The intra-molecular Cu?Tb distance of 5.0592?(11)?Å indicates weak inter-actions between the Cu(II) and Tb(III) atoms. The coordination cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H?O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the (001) plane. Moreover, there are extensive ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 4.332?(7) and 3.878?(5)?Å] between the phenanthroline ligands and between phenanthroline and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, [Tb(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))(4)(H(2)O)(4)][W(CN)(8)], both metal atoms are eight-coordinated. The Tb(III) ion displays a dodeca-hedral geometry, while the W(v) ion exhibits a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The Tb atoms are located on a special position of site symmetry -4, whereas the W atoms are located on a twofold rotation axis. The cations are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The title compound is isotypic with the corresponding and previously described Mo compound [Qian & Yuan (2011 ?). Acta Cryst. E67, m845].

In the cation, the four l-alanine mol-ecules are present in their zwitterionic form and bridge two Tb(3+) ions through their carboxyl-ate O atoms. Each Tb atom is also coordinated by four water mol-ecules in a square-anti-prismatic geometry. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are held together via inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {[Er2(C4H2O4)2(C2O4)(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , was synthesized by the reaction of erbium nitrate hexa-hydrate with fumaric acid and oxalic acid under hydro-thermal conditions. The Er(3+) cation (site symmetry ..2) is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from four fumarate anions (site symmetry ..2) and one bidentate oxalate anion (site symmetry 222), and by two water mol-ecules. The complex exhibits a three-dimensional structure consisting of oxalate pillared Er-fumarate layers with channels occupied by coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules. The three-dimensional structure features by Owater-H?O hydrogen bonds involving both the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, [KTb(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(H(2)O)]·2.5H(2)O, each Tb(3+) centre is coordinated by four N and five O atoms from five distinct picolinate ligands in a geometry resembling a highly distorted tricapped trigonal prism. One of the ligands establishes a skew bridge between neighbouring Tb(3+) centres, leading to the formation of one-dimensional anionic polymeric chains, {[(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)Tb](-)}(n), running along the direction [010]. Each K(+) cation is seven-coordinated by six O atoms from one anionic polymeric chain and one water mol-ecule [K⋯O 2.676 (3)-3.208 (4) Å]. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules are involved in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, K(3)La[H(4)Mo(10)Co(2)O(38)].13H(2)O, is an optically active chiral polyoxometalate (POM) which contains an anion with ideal point symmetry D2 (222). The crystals containing one of the enanti-omer pairs in the POM were resolved at pH 2.5. The factor that governs the formation of the compound is the pH condition of the mother liquor. The racemate salt, K(6)[H(4)Mo(10)Co(2)O(38)]·7H(2)O, is obtained at pH 6.5 [Nolan et al. (1998 ?). Aust. J. Chem.51. 825-834]. Two non-acidic H atoms in the POM form intra-molecular hydrogen bonds and the remaining two H atoms form hydrogen bonds with two water mol-ecules. The POMs are connected by three K(+) ions. The La(3+) ion is coordinated by three O atoms of the POM and six water molecues with distances in the range 2.516?(5)-2.589?(5)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Tb(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(3)]·2.75H(2)O, the Tb(3+) atom is coordinated by three tridentate 6-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and lies on a crystallographic threefold rotation axis. The coordination polyhedron around Tb(III) adopts a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. Disordered water mol-ecules with partial occupancy are also present in the crystal, one of which is associated with each of the carboxyl-ate O atoms of the complex unit.

The In(III) ion is six-coordinated and forms a quasi-regular octa-hedral arrangement. In the crystal, alternating layers of cations and anions are arranged parallel to (10[Formula: see text]) and are linked with the water mol-ecules via intra- and inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a complex three-dimensional network. Additional stabilization within the layers is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.

The [Co(bpy)(3)](3+) complex cation exhibits C(2) symmetry with the twofold axis through the central Co atom and bis-ecting one bpy ligand and one of the Cl(-) anions. The four solvent water mol-ecules and the remaining two Cl(-) anions lie on a mirror plane. Hydrogen-bond inter-actions define a two-dimensional layer structure parallel to (100), which consists of seven-membered [Cl(2)(H(2)O)(5)], eight-membered [Cl(4)(H(2)O)(4)] and ten-membered [Cl(2)(H(2)O)(8)] rings.
