{?-N-[(Diphenyl-phosphino)meth-yl]pyridin-2-amine-?N:P}bis-{[2-(2,2'-bipyridin-6-yl)phenyl-?N,N',C]platinum(II)} bis-(perchlorate).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Pt(2)(C(16)H(11)N(2))(2)(C(18)H(17)N(2)P)](ClO(4))(2), contains two Pt(II) atoms, bridged by an N-[(diphenyl-phosphino)meth-yl]pyridin-2-amine (dppmp) ligand. One Pt atom is coordinated by one P atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from a 6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine (pbpy) ligand in a square-planar geometry. The other Pt atom is coordinated by one N atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from another pbpy ligand in a square-planar geometry. There are intra-molecular ?-? inter-actions between the pbpy ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.62?(1)?Å between two pyridyl rings. The oxygen atoms of both perchlorate anions are disordered, each over two different positions [occupanicies 0.49?(3)/0.51?(3) and 0.48?(2)/0.52?(2)].

Project description:In the title compound, C(26)H(25)NP(2), the diphenyl-phosphino groups are staggered relative to the PNP backbone, even though the ethyl substituent coordinated to the N atom is not sterically bulky. The N atom adapts an almost planar geometry with two P atoms and a C atom of the allyl group attached to it in order to accommodate the steric bulk of the phenyl groups and the alkyl group. The distortion of the trigonal-pyramidal geometry of the nitro-gen is further illustrated by the bond angles which range between 114.0?(1) and 123.7?(1)°. There are no classical inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:The title complex, [CuII(ClO4)(mesoPYBP)](ClO4) {PYBP = 1,1'-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]-2,2'-bipiperidyl, C22H30N4}, was prepared and found to crystallize with two crystallographically independent complex salt moieties. The metal atoms of the cations adopt a pseudo-square-pyramidal coordination geometry, where the tetra-dentate amino-pyridine ligands (PYBP) are wrapped around the Cu atoms in the equatorial plane. The Cu-O bonds involving an O atom of the coordinating perchlorate anion are approximately perpendicular to the plane. The two remaining non-coordinating perchlorate anions are involved in several C-H?O hydrogen bonds with the PYBP ligand and balance the total charge of the complex salt. The two crystallographically independent moieties are related to each other via a pseudo-translation along the a-axis direction. Exact translational symmetry is broken by (i) a difference in the conformation of one of the piperidine rings, featuring a chair conformation in one of the cations, and a sterically disfavored boat conformation in the other; and (ii) by modulation of the non-coordinating perchlorate anions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C20H21N3)2](ClO4)2, two tridentate (2-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine (L) ligands form the Mn(II) complex [MnL 2](ClO4)2. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis and the complex cation is significantly distorted from regular octa-hedral geometry. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H?O inter-actions between the cations and anions, which link them into a zigzag ribbon along [101]. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was constrained to be tetra-hedral with two orientations having occupancies of 0.768?(4) and 0.232?(4). The 2-methylbenzyl moiety is also disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.508?(15) and 0.492?(15).

Project description:In the title benzene-solvated heteroleptic lithium complex, [Li(C25H21P2S2)(C10H8N2)]·C6H6, the Li(I) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two S atoms and two N atoms of the two chelating ligands, viz. bis-(diphenyl-thio-phosphino-yl)methyl and 2,2'-bipyridine. The 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule is slightly twisted with a dihedral angle between the pyridine rings of 7.35?(12)°. Intra-molecular C-H?S hydrogen bonds are present. In the crystal, mol-ecules are stacked along the c axis by ?-? inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6021?(15) and 3.6401?(16)?Å. The crystal structure also features weak C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the binuclear title compound, [Ag2(C11H11N3)2](ClO4)2·2C2H6SO, the complex cation is centrosymmetric, with the unique Ag(I) cation coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-(pyridine-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridine-3-amine ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N = 170.78?(9)°], resulting in the formation of a 16-membered cyclic dimer. The two pyridine rings coordinating to the Ag(I) atom are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 87.73?(10)°]. Inter-molecular Ag?O inter-actions [3.149?(3) and 2.686?(3)?Å], N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions between the cyclic dimers and the anions or the solvent mol-ecules lead to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

The Pt atom is four-coordinated by a tridentate chelating 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and a chloride ion in a square-planar geometry with modest distortion imposed by the constraint of the terpyridyl ligand. The r.m.s. deviations from the plane comprising the four ligand donor atoms and the Pt atom are 0.0381 and 0.0472?Å in the two complex cations.

Project description:The title extended solid coordination compound, {[Fe(C(44)H(40)N(2)O(4)P(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO}(n), was crystallized un-ex-pectedly from the reaction mixture containing the Trost ligand (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane-N,N'-bis-(2'-di-phenyl-phosphinobenzo-yl) and Fe(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O in a 1:1 ratio in dimethyl-formamide (DMF) under reflux conditions. The polymeric complex is characterized by Fe(II) metal centers that are coordinated by two oxidized Trost ligands, each coordinated in a bidentate fashion in a square plane, along with two DMF mol-ecules above and below the plane [average Fe-O(DMF) = 2.086 (4) Å], forming an overall pseudo-octa-hedral geometry. The Trost ligand binds adjacent Fe(II) centers, each Fe(II) being bound through the O atom of one of the phosphine oxides [average Fe-O(PPh2) = 2.115 (4) Å] and the carbonyl O atom of the adjacent amide [average Fe-O(amide) = 2.192 (3) Å]. Disorder is observed in the co-solvated solvent: there are two DMF mol-ecules per Fe(II) centre, which were modeled as one DMF mol-ecule with complete occupancy and the other being modeled in two positions with equal occupancy. Disorder was also observed with one of the perchlorate anions, which was modeled in two positions with 0.75:0.25 occupancy.

Project description:Each of the ions in the title salt, [Ag(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)]ClO(4), is completed by the application of crystallographic twofold symmetry. The Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms in an almost linear fashion [N-Ag-N = 170.0?(2)°], with the T-shaped coordination geometry being completed by a weakly associated perchlorate-O atom. Supra-molecular zigzag chains along [100] mediated by O-H?N hydrogen bonds [as parts of R(2) (2)(6) loops] feature in the crystal packing. The perchlorate O atoms are disordered over two sets of sites in a statistical ratio.

Project description:The Pt(II) atom in the title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(27)H(27)NP(2))], has a highly distorted square-planar geometry, as evidenced by the P-Pt-P bite angle [72.4?(1)°]. The strain in the complex is further illustrated by the distorted tetra-hedral angles of the P atoms, which range between 93.5?(1) and 122.2?(1)°. It is of inter-est to note that the N atom has to adopt an almost planar geometry with the two P atoms and the C atom attached to it [it is displaced by 0.093?(2)?Å from the CP(2) plane] in order to accommodate the steric bulk of the phenyl groups and the alkyl group of the ligand coordinated to the Pt(II) centre. The mol-ecules pack in horizontal rows across the bc plane. C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.
