ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(28)H(36)O(4)S, the p-tolyl ring is inclined at 35.8° to the aromatic ring. The cyclohexene ring adopts a boat conformation and the heterocyclic ring is in a slightly distorted screw boat conformation.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, C30H40O6S, the cyclo-hexene and heterocyclic rings are linked by a double bond. The cyclo-hexene ring has a half-chair conformation (the methyl-ene group adjacent to the hy-droxy substituent lies above the remaining atoms) and the hy-droxy and eth-oxy groups have equatorial and bis-ectional dispositions, respectively. The heterocyclic ring has an envelope conformation (with the CMe2 C atom being the flap). The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 53.88 (10)°. A long intra-molecular C-H⋯S inter-action is noted. In the mol-ecular packing, hy-droxy-O-H⋯O(sulfonate) hydrogen bonds lead to a helical chain along [010]. Connections between chains are of the type methyl-C-H⋯O(sulfonate) and lead to supra-molecular layers that lie parallel to (001). The studied crystal was an inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, C15H9FO3, was obtained in a one-pot synthesis by Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling and nucleophilic substitution reaction of 4'-chloro-2',5'-di-fluoro-aceto-phenone with o-(meth-oxy-carbon-yl)phenyl-boronic acid. The asymmetric unit contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules related by a non-crystallographic inversion centre. There are face-to-face stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of the benzoate and aceto-phenone units of the symmetry-independent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distances = 3.870?(3) and 3.986?(3)?Å]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are further assembled via stacking inter-actions along the a-axis direction. One of the mol-ecules inter-acts with its inversion equivalent [centroid-centroid distance between the aromatic rings of the benzoate and aceto-phenone units = 3.932?(3)?Å], and the other inter-acts with its twofold axis equivalent [centroid-centroid distance between the aromatic rings of aceto-phenone units = 3.634?(3)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, commonly known as (+)-(6aS,11aS)-medicarpin, C(16)H(14)O(4), was isolated from Dalbergia oliveri and displays a rigid mol-ecule consisting of four fused rings. The benzofuran system is inclined at an angle of 76.49?(2)° with respect to the chroman unit. The compound exists as a polymeric chain arising from inter-molecular O-H?O bonding.

Novel 6a,12b-Dihydro-6H,7H-chromeno[3,4-c] chromen-6-ones: Synthesis, Structure and Antifungal Activity.

Project description:A new series of coumarin derivatives, 7-hydroxy-7-(trifluoromethyl)-6a,12b-dihydro-6H,7H-chromeno[3,4-c]chromen-6-ones 3a-p, were synthesized via Michael addition, transesterification and nucleophilic addition from the reaction of 3-trifluoroacetyl coumarins and phenols in the presence of an organic base. The products were characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-NMR), carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (13C-NMR) and high-resolution mass spectrometer (HRMS). Single crystal X-ray analysis of compounds 3a and 3n clearly confirmed their assigned chemical structures and their twisted conformations. Compound 3a crystallized in the orthorhombic system, Pbca, in which a = 8.6244(2) Å, b = 17.4245(4) Å, c = 22.5188(6) Å, α = 90°, β = 90°, γ = 90°, v = 3384.02(14) Å3, and z = 8. In addition, the mycelial growth rate method was used to examine the in vitro antifungal activities of the title compounds 3a-p against Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium monitiforme at 500 µg/mL. The results showed that compound 3l exhibited significant anti-Fusarium monitiforme activity with inhibitory index of 84.6%.

Project description:In the title compound, C22H23NO2S, the inner pyrrolidine ring (A) adopts an envelope conformation with the methine C atom opposite the fused C-N bond as the flap. The thio-pyran ring (C) has a half-chair conformation and its mean plane is inclined to the fused benzene ring by 1.74?(11)°, and by 60.52?(11)° to the mean plane of pyrrolidine ring A. In the outer pyrrolidine ring (B), the C atom opposite the fused C-N bond is disordered [site-occupancy ratio = 0.427?(13):0.573?(13)] and both rings have envelope conformations, with the disordered C atom as the flap. The planes of the phenyl ring and the benzene ring of the thio-chromane unit are inclined to one another by 65.52?(14)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by a pair of C-H?O hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers.

Project description:The diastereodivergent synthesis of hexahydro-6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-one derivatives with good to high diastereoselectivities (up to 98:2 d.r.) and enantioselectivities (up to >99?% ee) has been achieved by using a domino Michael/Michael/hemiacetalization reaction between trans-2-hydroxy-?-nitrostyrenes and trans-7-oxo-5-heptenals followed by oxidation. With use of appropriate modularly designed organocatalysts (MDOs) that are self-assembled in situ from amino acid derivatives and cinchona alkaloid derivatives, two different diastereomers of the desired hexahydro-6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-ones are obtained from the same substrates.

Project description:In the title compound, C19H22N2O4, the six-membered cyclo-hexenone ring of the chromene unit adopts an envelope conformation, with the dimethyl-substituted C atom as the flap, while the pyran ring has a boat conformation. These two mean planes are inclined to one another by 6.65?(13)°·The benzene ring is normal to the 4H-chromene moiety mean plane, making a dihedral angle of 89.18?(5)°. The methyl-amine and nitro groups are slightly twisted from the chromene moiety mean plane, with torsion angles C-N-C-O = 1.70?(18) and O-N-C-C = 0.15?(18)°. The mol-ecular structure is characterized by an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers. These dimers are connected by further C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to (10-1).

In the crystal, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules across the stacks into ribbons in the a-axis direction.
