ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(26)H(20)N(4)O(2))]·0.5C(4)H(10)O, the central metal ion is coordinated by four atoms of the tetra-dentate picolinamide ligand, forming a slightly distorted square-planar configuration, with an average Ni-N(pyridine) distance of 1.94?Å and an average Ni-N(amide) distance of 1.83?Å. The asymmetric unit contains one half-molecule of diethyl ether; this solvent molecule is disordered across a twofold rotation axis..

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(28)H(22)N(2)O(2))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)]ClO(4)·0.5CH(4)O·0.5H(2)O, each Co(III) ion is coordinated by the tetra-dentate N,N'-bis-(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)-1,2-diphenyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligand [Co-N = 1.900 (3) and 1.903 (3) Å; Co-O = 1.885 (3) and 1.891 (3) Å] and two pyridine ligands [Co-N = 1.967 (4) and 1.977 (3) Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The packing of the cations and anions forms voids of 258 Å(3), which are filled by methanol and solvent water mol-ecules with half occupancies. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between solvent molecules, perchlorate anions and water molecules, and between water molecules and O atoms of the ligand, help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The mol-ecular title compound, C20H22O6, was obtained by the reaction of ethyl 2-hy-droxy-benzoate with 1,2-di-chloro-ethane. The mol-ecule lies on a twofold rotation axis which passes through the middle of the central ethyl-ene bridge. This group exhibits a gauche conformation with the corresponding O-C-C-O torsion angle being 73.2?(2)°. The C atoms of the carboxyl group, the aryl and the O-CH2 group are coplanar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.01?Å. The two aryl rings form a dihedral angle of 67.94?(4)°. The ester ethyl group is disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.59?(2):0.41?(2). The crystal packing is dominated by van der Waals forces.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(34)H(24)N(4)O(2)S(2))] or [Cu(bqdapte)], where H(2)bqdapte is 1,2-{bis-[2-(quinoline-2-carboxamido)-phen-yl]sulfan-yl}ethane, the Cu(II) ion is coordinated to the dianionic hexa-dentate bqdapte(2-) ligand by two amide and two quinoline N atoms and two thio-ether S atoms. In the observed conformation of the hexa-dentate ligand, the quinoline rings attain positions related by a twofold axis. The Cu atom displays a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral CuN(4)S(2) geometry axially compressed along the two trans-configured Cu-N(amidate) bonds.

Project description:In the course of substitution studies on the iron dihydrogen complex trans-[Fe(DMeOPrPE)(2)(H(2))H](BPh(4)) {DMeOPrPE = 1,2-bis-[bis-(methoxy-prop-yl)phosphino]ethane}, we discovered an unexpected transformation of the diphosphine ligand to a diphospho-nium dication without the use of any typical methyl-ating reagent. The P atoms in the dication of the title compound, C(20)H(46)O(4)P(2) (2+)·2C(24)H(20)B(-)·C(4)H(10)O, have a distorted tetra-hedral coordination with P-C(Me) distances of 1.791 (2) and 1.785 (2) Å. The P-C-C-P torsion angle about the central dimethyl-ene bridge is -168.3 (1)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](C(16)H(12)O(6))·H(2)O, the Ni(II) cation is located on a mirror plane and is coordinated by six water mol-ecules, two of which are also located on the mirror plane, in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-(1,2-dihy-droxy-ethane-1,2-di-yl)dibenzoate anion is centrosymmetric with the mid-point of the central ethane C-C bond located on an inversion center. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is located on a mirror plane. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Co(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2))(C(4)H(9)N)(2)]ClO(4)·0.5C(8)H(10), the Co(III) ion has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the Me-salen ligand, the benzene rings are almost parallel, making a dihedral angle of 0.48 (13)°, but the torsion angle along the central C-C bond is 41.1 (2)°·The pyrrolidine rings are in slightly distorted chair conformations. The N atoms of the pyrrolidine axial ligands are involved in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the perchlorate anions, and these hydrogen bonds connect the ionic species into infinite chains along the b axis. Some relatively short C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present in the crystal structure and C-H⋯O inter-actions occur. The guest solvent p-xylene mol-ecule lies on a special position at the inversion centre.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(4))]·0.5H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry involving an N(2)O(2) atom set of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains one mol-ecule of the complex and half a water solvent mol-ecule. The solvent water mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. An inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond forms an R(2) (1)(4) ring motif involving a bifurcated hydrogen bond to the phenolate O atoms of the complex. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5310 (11)-3.7905 (12) Å, forming extended chains along the b axis. In addition, there are Ni⋯Ni and Ni⋯N inter-actions [3.4404 (4)-4.1588 (4) and 3.383 (2)-3.756 (2) Å, respectively] which are shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the relevant atoms. Further stabilization of the crystal structure is attained by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title binuclear compound, [W(2)Cl(6)(NO)(2)(C(10)H(22)P(2))(3)], contains two W atoms which are bridged by a bis-(diethyl-phosphino)-ethane (depe) ligand. The seven-coord-inated tungsten(II) centres display distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometries with trans nitrosyl and chloride ligands. The title mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. The ethane group of the non-bridging depe ligand is positionally disordered, with site-occupancy factors of 0.63 and 0.37. In the crystal structure, the binuclear mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. In addition, weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)O(6), was obtained by the reaction of ethyl 4-hy-droxy-benzoate with 1,2-dichloro-ethane in dimethyl-formamide. The mol-ecule lies around the crystallographic inversion center at (0,0,0), with the asymmetric unit consisting of one half of the mol-ecule. The two ethyl groups are in trans positions. The ethyl, carboxyl, aryl and O-CH(2) groups are coplanar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0208 (9) Å. The whole mol-ecule is planar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0238 (9) Å for the 19 atoms used in the calculation and 0.0071 (9) Å for the two aryl groups in the mol-ecule. A weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond and a C-H⋯π inter-action help to consolidate the three-dimensional network.
