4,6-Bis(diphenyl-phosphino)phenoxazine (nixantphos).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(36)H(27)NOP(2), has been reported as a ligand on rhodium for the catalysis of hydro-formyl-ation reactions. The key feature of the compound is the intra-molecular P⋯P distance of 4.255 (2) Å. The bond angles at the P atoms range from 99.93 (10) to 103.02 (10)°. The phenoxazine ring system is essentially planar and a non-crystallographic mirror plane through the N⋯O vector bis-ects the mol-ecule. The C-O bond lengths range from 1.388 (2) to 1.392 (2) Å and the C-N bond lengths range from 1.398 (3) to 1.403 (3) Å.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(3)]·2CH(3)OH, consists of two five-membered [Cu(dppe)CN] rings [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane] bridged by one ?(2)-dppe ligand, and two methanol solvent mol-ecules. The angles around the central metal atom indicate that each Cu(I) atom is located in the center of a distorted tetra-hedron. The coordination sphere of each Cu(I) atom is formed by three P atoms from two dppe ligands, and one C atom from the cyanide ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which are formed by the O-H donor group from methanol and the N-atom acceptor from a cyanide ligand.

N,N-Bis(diphenyl-phosphino)ethyl-amine.

Project description:In the title compound, C(26)H(25)NP(2), the diphenyl-phosphino groups are staggered relative to the PNP backbone, even though the ethyl substituent coordinated to the N atom is not sterically bulky. The N atom adapts an almost planar geometry with two P atoms and a C atom of the allyl group attached to it in order to accommodate the steric bulk of the phenyl groups and the alkyl group. The distortion of the trigonal-pyramidal geometry of the nitro-gen is further illustrated by the bond angles which range between 114.0?(1) and 123.7?(1)°. There are no classical inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(26)H(22)P(2))(2)][CuCl(2)], is composed of discrete Cu(dppey)(2)](+) cations [dppey is cis-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethene] and [CuCl(2)](-) anions. The tetra-hedral Cu(P-P)(2) core of the [Cu(dppey)(2)](+) cation is distorted, with Cu-P bond lengths ranging from 2.269?(1) to 2.366?(1)?Å. The five-membered -Cu-P-CH=CH-P- rings adopt envelope conformations, with the Cu atom lying 0.38 and 0.65?Å out of the P-C=C-P planes. The Cu-Cl distances in the [CuCl(2)](-) anion are 2.094?(2) and 2.096?(2)?Å, with a Cl-Cu-Cl angle of 176.81?(7)°.

[Bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane-?P,P']dichloridopalladium(II).

Project description:The title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))], is a slightly distorted square-planar bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane cis-complex of PdCl(2). The structure of a polymorph of the title compound has been described earlier, but the arrangement of the mol-ecules observed in the current structure is distinctively different from that previously reported [Steffen & Palenik (1976 ?). Inorg. Chem.15, 2432-2439]. The earlier report describes a structure with individual well separated mol-ecules crystallizing in space group P2(1)/n. The polymorph described here, which is isostructrural to its Pt analogue [Babai et al. (2006 ?). Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem.632, 639-644], crystallizes in C2/c with chains of C2-symmetric mol-ecules stretching parallel to the b axis. The Pd atoms and the bis-phosphino-methane units are located on two different positions created by a non-crystallographic mirror operation with an occupancy of 0.6677?(11) for the major (PCH(2)P)Pd moiety. The positions of the Cl atoms of the minor moiety do coincide perfectly with those of the next mol-ecule along the chain parallel to b, and they are thus not included in the disorder. The phenyl rings also do not take part in the disorder and are common to both the major and minor moieties of the (PCH(2)P)PdCl(2) units. Assuming no defects, mol-ecules in each chain will thus have to be oriented the same way and the effect of the disorder of the (PCH(2)P)Pd unit is thus a reversal in direction of the chains parallel to b. The presence of light streaks of intensity between actual Bragg peaks indicates that a somehow ordered arrangement not resolved in the Bragg diffraction data may be present (i.e. an incommensurate superstructure) rather than a random or domain arrangement of the chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Au(2)Br(2)(C(27)H(26)P(2))], features linearly coordinated Au(I) atoms within P,Br-donor sets. The central portion of the mol-ecule is practically planar as quanti-fied by the Br-Au⋯Au-Br torsion angle of -169.9 (2)°. The P-Au-Br chromophores are twisted with respect to each other [dihedral angle = 52.3 (6)°]. The benzene rings on each P atom lie on either side of this plane. The Au atoms are positioned at the periphery of the mol-ecule, which facilitates the formation of Au⋯Au inter-actions [3.2575 (11) Å] that result in the formation of supra-molecular chains along the b-axis direction. The Au⋯Au inter-actions are responsible for the deviations from the ideal linear geometry for each Au atom.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [MoF(N(2)H(2))(C(31)H(29)N(2)P(2))(C(26)H(24)P(2))](BF(4))(2), each Mo atom is surrounded by four P atoms of one 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane and one 2-[bis-(diphenyl-phosphinometh-yl)amino]pyridinium ligand. The remaining binding sites of the distorted octa-hedron are occupied by a hydrazidate (NNH(2) (2-)) and a fluoride ligand. Two F atoms of an anion are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.7 and 0.3.

Project description:The title compound, [NiBr(2)(C(27)H(27)NP(2))], was synthesized by the reaction of NiBr(2)(dme) (dme is 1,2-dimethoxy-ethane) with N,N-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)isopropyl-amine in methanol/tetra-hydro-furan. The nickel(II) center is coordinated by two P atoms of the chelating PNP ligand, Ph(2)PN(iPr)PPh(2), and two bromide ions in a distorted square-planar geometry.

The N atom adopts an almost planar geometry with the two P atoms and the C atom attached to it, in order to accommodate the steric bulk of the phenyl groups and the alkyl group. Three C atoms of the 1,2-dimethylpropylamine group are disordered over two positions in a 9:1 ratio. The mol-ecules pack diagonally in the unit cell across the ac plane in a head-to-tail fashion.
