Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(7)NO(3)S, contains two independent mol-ecules with different geometric-al configurations. The dihedral angles between the benzene and pyridine rings in the two mol-ecules are 3.7?(2) and 5.40?(19)°. The central heterocyclic fused rings have different puckering parameters [Q = 0.122?(3)?Å, ? = 100.4?(13), ? = 185.3?(19)° in one mol-ecule, 0.101?(3)?Å, 101.4?(3) and 2?(2)° in the other]. The SO(2) group is oriented at dihedral angles of 81.06?(14) and 82.58?(15)° with the benzene and pyridine rings, respectively, in one mol-ecule [87.21?(14) and 87.66?(14)° in the second]. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked into zigzag polymeric chains along the b axis by inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding. ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.825?(3)-4.153?(3)?Å stabilize the structure. S-O?? and C-O?? inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(17)ClO(3), has been synthesized by the reaction of p-chloro-benzaldehyde, isopropyl-idene malonate and 5,5-dimethyl-cyclo-hexane-1,3-dione with triethyl-benzyl-ammonium chloride in water as a green solvent. The six membered pyran-one ring of the hexa-hydro-coumarin system has a screw-boat conformation while the dimethyl-cyclo-hexenone system has a distorted envelope conformation. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the coumarin ring system and the benzene ring is 85.64?(9)°.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(14)ClNO(3), contains two independent mol-ecules (A and B). In both mol-ecules, the cyclo-hexa-none ring has a chair conformation. The dihedral angles between the pyran ring and the pyridine and chloro-phenyl rings are 2.13 (9) and 2.19 (9)°, respectively, in A, and 0.82 (9) and 1.93 (9)°, respectively, in B. The carbonyl O atoms deviate from the pyran and benzene rings to which they are attached by -0.092 (2) and 0.064 (2) Å, respectively, in A, and by -0.080 (2) and -0.063 (2) Å, respectively, in B. In the crystal, the A mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming double-stranded chains along [100]. They lie parallel to the double-stranded chains formed by the B mol-ecules, which are also linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C19H12ClN3O, contains two mol-ecules with similar conformations. The 14 non-H atoms comprising the 4H-chromeno[8,7-b]pyridine residue are essentially coplanar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.037 and 0.042?Å for the two mol-ecules) and the main difference between them is seen in the twist about the bond linking the main residue to the attached chloro-benzene rings [dihedral angles = 79.01?(12) and 76.22?(11)° for the two mol-ecules]. Zigzag supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction mediated by amino-pyridine N-H?N hydrogen bonds feature in the crystal packing; these are connected into a three-dimensional architecture by C-H?? inter-actions and Cl?Cl contacts [Cl?Cl = 3.3896?(14)?Å].
