ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Co(NCO)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Co atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands and two N atoms from two cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Co atom lies on a twofold rotation axis. The average Co-N bond length is 2.126 (7) Å. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuBr(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]Br·BrCH(2)COOH·0.5H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms [Cu-N = 1.985 (6)-2.125 (7) Å] from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligand mol-ecules and a bromide anion [Cu-Br = 2.471 (2) Å] in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Short centroid-centroid distances [3.762 (5) and 3.867 (5) Å] between the aromatic rings of neighbouring cations suggest the existence of π-π inter-actions. Inter-molecular O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Br inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The complex molecule of the title compound, [Mn(3)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·H(2)O, contains a linear array of divalent manganese ions. The central Mn(II) atom, which is located on a crystallographic inversion center, is coordinated octa-hedrally by six benzoate O atoms. The two terminal Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated by four benzoate O atoms and two N atoms of 2,2'-bipyridyl. The central Mn(II) atom and the terminal Mn(II) ions are bridged by four benzoate ligands in a bidentate fashion, whereas the other two carboxyl-ate ligands form bridges through one O atom only and chelate the terminal Mn(II) atom. The mol-ecules pack together via van der Waals attractions and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title dinuclear Cd(II) complex, [Cd(2)(C(2)N(4)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], each Cd atom is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination by two N atoms and one O atom of two 1H-tetra-zole-5-carboxyl-ate (TZC) ligands, two N atoms of a 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand and one water O atom. The TZC ligand acts in a tridentate N,O-chelating N-bridging mode to two symmetry-equivalent Cd(II) atoms. The complex reveals mol-ecular C(i) symmetry. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding plays an important role in the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2](NO3)2·4H2O} n , (C10H8N2 = 4,4'-bipyridine = 4,4'-bpy) is a layered coordination polymer built up from a cationic square grid extending in (101) enclosing uncoordinating nitrate ions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) ion has site symmetry 2 and one of the 4,4'-bpy ligands is generated by twofold symmetry [two N atoms and two C atoms lie on the rotation axis and the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 45.66 (5)°]. The other 4,4'-bpy ligand is generated by a crystallographic inversion center. The Co(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two O atoms of two coordinating water mol-ecules and four N atoms from four bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands. The structure is consolidated by O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(CH(3)OH)(2)], lies on a twofold roation axis which runs through the Ni(II) ion and the mid-point of the bipyridine ligand. The Ni(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two azide ligands in a trans configuration. Project description:The centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu2(C2H2N2O4)(C10H8N2)2(C2H6OS)2](ClO4)2, contains two copper(II) ions, connected through an N-deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid dianion, two terminal 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, and two apically coordinating dimethylsulfoxide mol-ecules. Two non-coordinating perchlorate anions assure electrical neutrality. The copper(II) ions in the complex dication [Cu2(C10H8N2)2(μ-C2H2N2O4)(C2H6SO)2](2+) are in an O2N3 square-pyramidal donor environment, the Cu-Cu separation being 5.2949 (4) Å. Two hydroxamate groups in the deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid are located trans to one each other. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex cations to the perchlorate anions. Further C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds combine with π-π contacts with a centroid-to-centroid separation of 3.6371 (12) Å to stack the mol-ecules along the a-axis direction.

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds exist between the 2,2'-biimidizole ligands and the azide ions, linking the complexes into sheets.
