ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(8)H(9)N(3)S(2), the n-propyl chain is disordered over two orientations (site-occupancy ratio = 0.522:0.478) and is roughly perpendicular to the fused thia-zolotriazine system. The angle between the fused ring and the propyl chain is 83.6?(1)° [ 82.2?(1)° for the disordered chain]. The structure is stabilized by C-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The benzo-thia-zolo group is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.009?Å) and inclined to the mean plane of the pyrimidine ring by 3.27?(6)°. The intramolecular C-H?S hydrogen bond between the thione and the benzyl units along with the C-H?? interaction between the butyl group and the centroid of the benzene ring may be effective in stabilizing the molecule.

Project description:In the title compound, C20H16Cl2N2O2S, the pyrimidine ring has a screw-boat conformation. The attached di-chloro-phenyl ring is twisted at an angle of 89.29 (13)° with respect to the pyrimidine ring mean plane. The benzo-thia-zole group is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.008 Å) and inclined to the pyrimidine ring mean plane by 3.04 (10)°. The carboxyl-ate group assumes an extended conformation with respect to the pyrimidine ring, which can be seen from the O=C-O-C torsion angle of 3.2 (4) °. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming slabs lying parallel to (100).

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(9)BrN(2)S, was prepared by the reaction of 1-bromo-2-(2,2-dibromo-vin-yl)benzene with 1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2(3H)-thione. The thia-zolo[3,2-a]benz-imidazole fused-ring system is nearly planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.049?(4)?Å. This mean plane is oriented at a dihedral angle of 71.55?(17)° with respect ot the bromo-phenyl ring. ?-? stacking is observed in the crystal structure, the centroid-centroid distance between the thia-zole and imidazole rings of adjacent mol-ecules being 3.582?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C(16)H(13)N(2)OS(+)·HSO(4) (-), the thia-zolo[3,2-a]benzimidazolium ring system is roughly planar [maximum deviation = 0.046?(3)?Å] and makes a dihedral angle of 58.22?(11)° with the benzene ring. The meth-oxy group is almost coplanar with its attached benzene ring [C(meth-yl)-O-C-C = -1.6?(5)°]. In the crystal, the cation is linked to the anion by a bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bond, generating an R(1) (2)(4) ring motif. The ion pairs are then connected by a C-H?O hydrogen bond into inversion dimers and these dimers are further linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into an infinite tape along [100]. A ?-? stacking inter-action [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.5738?(18)?Å] and a short inter-molecular contact [S?O = 2.830?(3)?Å] are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(14)N(2)OS, crystallizes as a racemate in a non-chiral space group. It represents a conformationally restricted analogue of so-called Biginelli compounds known to exhibit multiple pharmacological activities and was selected for a single-crystal X-ray analysis in order to probe the chemical and spatial requirements of some kinds of activity. It was found that the state of hybridization of the formally aminic nitro-gen of the heterocycle is between sp(2) and sp(3) with the lone-pair electrons partially delocalized through conjugation with the sulfur atom rather than the double bond of the pyrimidine nucleus. As a result, the thia-zolo ring adopts a flat-envelope conformation and the puckering of the central pyrimidine ring is close to a half-chair. The critical phenyl ring is fixed in a pseudo-axial and perpendicular [dihedral angle 84.6?(1)°] orientation with respect to the pyrimidine ring via an oxygen bridge.

Crystal structures of two 6-(2-hy-droxy-benzo-yl)-5H-thia-zolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-ones.

Project description:The title compounds, 6-(2-hy-droxy-benz-yl)-5H-thia-zolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one, C13H8N2O3S, (1), and 6-(2-hy-droxy-benz-yl)-3-methyl-5H-thia-zolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one, C14H10N2O3S, (2), were synthesized when a chromone-3-carb-oxy-lic acid, activated with (benzotriazol-1-yl-oxy)tripyrrolidinyl-phospho-nium hexa-fluorido-phosphate (PyBOP), was reacted with a primary heteromamine. Instead of the expected amidation, the unusual title thia-zolo-pyrimidine-5-one derivatives were obtained serendipitously and a mechanism of formation is proposed. Both compounds present an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring. The dihedral angles between the heterocyclic moiety and the 2-hydroxybenzoyl ring are 55.22 (5) and 46.83 (6)° for (1) and (2), respectively. In the crystals, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(22)N(2)O(4)S, the central pyrimidine ring incorporating a chiral C atom is significantly puckered and adopts a slight boat conformation with C atom bearing the phenyl ring and the N atom opposite displaced by 0.367?(2) and 0.107?(2)?Å, respectively, from the plane formed by the remaining ring atoms. The benzene ring is positioned axially to the pyrimidine ring, making a dihedral angle of 88.99?(5)°. The thia-zole ring is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0033?Å). In the crystal, pairs of C-H?O inter-actions result in centrosymmetric dimers with graph-set motifs R(1) (2)(7) and R(2) (2)(8). A weak C-H?? contact is also observed.
