ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(17)NO(4)S(2), the carboxyl groups link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers through O-H?O hydrogen bonds. An N-H?O hydrogen bond between the NH group of the l-methio-nine unit and a neighbouring carboxyl group, together with a complementary C-H?O contact to one O atom of the sulfonyl group, link the dimers into one-dimensional chains along the crystallographic b axis.

An intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond leads to the formation of a planar (r.m.s. deviation 0.0419?Å)R(5) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected through O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds with R(2) (2)(9) ring motifs into chains extending along the b axis.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(11)H(13)Cl(2)NO(4)S, shows one sulfonamide-O atom to lie almost in the plane of the benzene ring [C-C-S-O = -178.7?(2) °] and the other to one side [C-C-S-O = -49.4?(3)°]. Lying to the other side is the amine residue, which occupies a position almost perpendicular to the plane [C-S-N-C = 70.2?(2)°]; the carb-oxy-lic acid group is orientated to lie over the benzene ring. In the crystal, the appearance of an 11-membered {?OH?OCOH?OC(2)NH} synthon, which features the hy-droxy group forming both donor (to a carbonyl-O) and acceptor (from the amine-H) inter-actions, leads to the formation of a supra-molecular chain along the a axis. Chains are connected in the crystal structure by C-H?O contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(18)N(2)O(5)S, the benzene ring and the acetamide group are almost coplanar [dihedral angle = 5.6?(3)°], and the amine group projects almost vertically from this plane [C-C-S-N = -84.5?(7)°]. A short intra-molecular C-H?O contact occurs. In the crystal, O-H?O, N-H?O and N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds lead to a three-dimensional network. One of the methyl groups of the isopropyl residue is disordered over two orientations in a 0.747?(16):0.253?(16) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, a major animal feed supplement, abbreviated as HMTBA and alternatively called dl-me-thio-nine hy-droxy analogue, C5H10O3S, (I), was isolated in pure anhydrous monomeric form. The melting point is 302.5 K and the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, with two conformationally non-equivalent mol-ecules [(I A ) and (I B )] in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure is formed by alternating polar and non-polar layers running along the bc plane and features an extensive hydrogen-bonding network within the polar layers. The Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed a significant contribution of non-polar H⋯H and H⋯S inter-actions to the packing forces for both mol-ecules.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(19)H(24)S(2). In both mol-ecules, the aliphatic segment of the ligand is in an all-trans conformation: the -S-(CH(2))(5)-S-bridging chain is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.0393 and 0.0796?Å in the two mol-ecules) and maximally extended. Their mean planes form dihedral angles of 4.08?(6)/20.47?(6) and 2.22?(6)/58.19?(6)° with the aromatic rings in the two mol-ecules. The crystal packing is purely governed by weak inter-molecular forces.
