Catena-Poly[[bis-[1-phenyl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propan-1-one-?N]cadmium(II)]-di-?-azido-?N:N].

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Cd(N(3))(2)(C(11)H(11)N(31))(2)](n), there are two crystallographically independent Cd(II) atoms. Both exist in an octa-hedral environment composed of four N atoms of the N(3) (-) groups and two N atoms from two monodentate 1-phenyl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propan-1-one ligands that are positioned trans to each other. Adjacent Cd(II) centres in the crystal structure are bridged by a pair of N(3) (-) anions in a ?-1,3-fashion, forming an infinite one-dimensional array.

Project description:In the title compound, C(8)H(8)N(4)·C(8)H(8)N(4), two tautomers, viz. 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine and 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine, are crystallized together in equal amounts. The 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine mol-ecule is essentially planar; the phenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 2.3?(2)° with the mean plane of the 1,2,4-triazole ring. In the 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine tautomer, the mean planes of the phenyl and 1,2,4-triazole rings form a dihedral angle of 30.8?(2)°. The ?-electron delocalization of the amino group with the 1,2,4-triazole nucleus in the 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine mol-ecule is more extensive than that in the 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine tautomer. The mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The Cd(II) centre assumes a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The thio-cyanate anions function as bridging ligands between the Cd(II) centres, leading to a chain-like arrangement expanding along [001].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title Cd(II) compound, [Cd(N(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), contains a Cd(II) atom, located on a twofold axis passing through the middle of the phenanthroline mol-ecule, one azide ion and half of a 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordin-ation including one chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and four azide ligands. The crystal structure features chains along the c direction in which azide groups doubly bridge two adjacent Cd(II) atoms in an end-on (EO) mode. The btmf ligands link adjoining Mn(II) atoms into a zigzag chain along the a axis. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which link the chains, forming a two-dimensional layer parallel to (10); O-H?Cl inter-actions link the layers, forming a three-dimensional network.

Adjacent Cd(II) cations are inter-connected alternately by pairs of chloride bridges, generating an infinite step-like chain along the a axis. Project description:Owing to the presence of crystallographic twofold rotation axes (site symmetry 2, Wyckoff letters e and f), the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(8)N(5))(CHO(2))](n), contains one-half of an Mn(II) cation, one-half of a bpt anion (Hbpt is 3,5-di-2-pyridyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole) and one-half of a formate anion. The bpt and formate ligands occupy the same C(2) symmetry, while the Mn(II) ion resides on another crystallographic twofold rotation axis. Each bpt ligand acts as a cis-bis-chelate to ligate two Mn(II) ions into a one-dimensional chain running along the crystallographic 4(1) screw axis. Adjacent Mn(II) ions are further bridged by a μ(2)-formate ligand, completing the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the cation.

The S atom of the sulfate anion is located on a twofold rotation axis, thus the sulfate anion is equally disordered over two sites. The sulfate anion links with the polymeric chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

There are C-H⋯π contacts between the 1,2,4-triazole rings, and between the phenyl and 1,2,4-triazole rings, and there is a weak π-π contact between the 1,2,4-triazole and phenyl rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 4.547 (1) Å].
