ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(15)H(18)N(2)O(3), is an example of an oxadiazinan-2-one with significant inter-action between the N(3)-acyl and N(4)-methyl groups. These steric inter-actions result in a large torsion angle between the two carbonyl groups, not present with acyl substituents with less steric demand.

Although the two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit are oriented appropriately for hydrogen bonding, the distance between the donor and acceptor atoms is large enough to support only weak, if any, hydrogen bonding. The absolute configuration is known based on the known starting compounds in the synthetic procedure.

Project description:The 1,3,4-oxadiazinane ring in the title compound, C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4), is in a twisted boat conformation. The two carbonyl groups are orientated towards the same side of the mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 76.6?(3)°. Mol-ecules are sustained in the three-dimensional structure by a combination of C-H?O, C-H?? and ?-? [shortest centroid-centroid distance = 3.672?(6)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:The 1,3,4-oxadiazinan-2-one ring in the title compound, C(12)H(13)ClN(2)O(3), is in a distorted half-chair conformation. The phenyl and chloro-acetyl groups occupy axial and equatorial positions, respectively, and lie to the opposite side of the mol-ecule to the N-bound methyl substituent. Mol-ecules are consolidated in the crystal structure by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(13)H(18)N(2)OS, is an oxadiazinanthione derived from (1R,2S)-norephedrine. There are two molecules in the asymmetric. Both adopt roughly half-chair conformations; however, the 5-position carbon orients out of opposite faces of the oxadiazinanthiones plane in the two molecules. In the crystal structure, they are oriented as a dimer linked by a pair of N-H?S hydrogen bonds. The absolute configuration has been established from anomalous dispersion and confirms the known stereochemistry based on the synthetic procedure.

The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring [r.m.s deviation = 0.0039 (15) Å] and the best mean-plane of the pyridazine ring [r.m.s deviations = 0.2629 (15) Å] is 53.27 (10)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the methyl group and the phenyl ring of a symmetry-related mol-ecule.

Project description:The absolute structure of the chiral asymmetric indole precursor title compound, C11H13NO3S, was confirmed by refinement of the Flack and Hooft parameters and is that expected based on the starting materials for the synthesis. The phenyl group subtends a dihedral angle of 56.40?(5)° with the mean plane of the oxazolidinone ring, which adopts an envelope conformation, with the C atom bearing the methyl group as the flap. In the crystal, no significant directional inter-actions beyond van der Waals contacts are observed.

Project description:The title compound, C7H8N2O2, formed by dehydration of the corresponding dicarboxamide, crystallizes as rectangular prisms. The mol-ecules have a C 2 axis of symmetry through the C atom bearing the methyl groups and the mid-point of the ring C-C bond, and the 1,3-dioxolane ring adopts the extreme twist conformation of the two possible with this symmetry. This brings the two nitrile groups nearest to a linear arrangement when the mol-ecule is viewed along the ring C-C bond. The correct absolute configuration of the mol-ecule was defined by that of the original starting material, (2R,3R)-tartaric acid. The packing is largely controlled by a number of C-H?N interactions.
