Poly[μ(2)-hydroxido-μ(4)-sulfato-neodym-ium(III)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Nd(OH)(SO(4))](n), was obtained hydro-thermally from an aqueous solution of neodymium nitrate, 1,2-propane-diamine and sulfuric acid. The structure features nona-coordinated neodymium with sulfate and hydroxide anions acting as bridging ligands. The OH group forms a weak O-H⋯O hydrogen bond with an O⋯O distance of 3.224 (5) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, {(C(4)H(16)N(3))[La(SO(4))(3)(H(2)O)]}(n), the La atom adopts an irregular LaO(9) coordination geometry, including one bonded water mol-ecule. The three sulfate groups adopt both monodentate and bidentate coordination to the metal ions. Two of the sulfate groups serve as bridges in the (100) and (010) directions, yielding infinite sheets, whereas the third is pendant to one La(3+) cation. The protonated organic species inter-acts with the layers by way of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving aqua ligands also occur.

Poly[diethyl-enetriammonium [aquadi-μ(2)-sulfato-sulfatocerium(III)]].

Project description:A new organically templated open-framework cerium sulfate, {(C(4)H(16)N(3))[Ce(SO(4))(3)(H(2)O)]}(n), was hydro-thermally synthesized. The Ce(III) cation is nine-coordinated by nine O atoms, including one water mol-ecule. Two of the SO(4) groups afford one monodentate and bidentate linkages as the bridge to connect adjacent Ce(III) cations, while the third SO(4) group attaches the Ce(III) cation in a bidentate mode. The crystal structure consists of layers composed of eight-membered-ring networks formed by four CeO(9) polyhedra and four SO(4) tetra-hedra. The triply protonated diethyl-enetriamine cations are located between adjacent layers and connect the layers via hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ga(2)(C(4)H(4)O(6))(2)(OH)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ga(III) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is six-coordinated by two O atoms from bridging hydroxide groups and four O atoms from two symmetry-related tartrate units in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. Each tartrate unit binds to two Ga(III) atoms as a bis-chelating bridging ligand by two pairs of hydroxide groups and an O atom of a carboxyl-ate group. The Ga(III) atoms are linked by two bridging hydroxide groups located on mirror planes. In this way a chain along the c axis is formed. Free water mol-ecules on mirror planes are located between the chains and hold them together through hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, with O⋯O distances in the range 2.509 (3)-3.179 (5) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Nd(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(OH)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), the Nd(III) atom is eight-coordinated by the three O atoms of three asymmetrically μ(3)-bridging hydroxide groups, by four carboxyl-ate O atoms of four different pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (2,5-pydc) ligands, and by the N atom of a 2,5-pydc ligand. Six Nd atoms are connected by six hydroxide groups, forming an [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] cluster unit of symmetry -3 and a slightly compressed octa-hedral geometry. Adjacent [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] clusters are connected by the 2,5-pydc ligands, via O and N atoms, forming chains along the c axis. The remaining O atoms of the 2,5-pydc ligands link these chains into a three-dimensional framework. A disordered water molecule, located on a threefold rotation axis at the opposite side of the [Nd(6)(μ(3)-OH)(6)] cluster and exposed to each of the three Nd atoms, completes the structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Er(2)(C(2)H(4)O(6)PS)(OH)(3)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), consists of two Er(3+) ions, one (C(2)H(4)O(6)PS)(3-) ion, three OH(-) ions, and two water mol-ecule. The Er(3+) ions form ErO(8) polyhedra., which are connected by μ- and μ(3)-O atoms. Thus, inorganic Er-O-Er layers of edge- and face-sharing polyhedra are observed. Whereas most often in metal phosphono-sulfonates the organic linker bridges adjacent layers, in the title compound, the (O(3)PC(2)H(4)SO(3))(3-) anion is only connected to one Er-O-Er layer. Short interatomic O⋯O distances [2.898 (8), 2.997 (14) and 2.768 (10) Å] indicate hydrogen bonding between the layers. The noncoordinated water mol-ecules are located between the layers.

Project description:In the title compound [Ca(C(12)H(25)O(4)S)(2)](n), the unique Ca(II) ion lies on an inversion center and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment by six O atoms from dodecyl sulfate anions. The crystal structure is based on hydro-carbon (dodecyl sulfate) layers which sandwich the Ca(II) ions. Within the layers, the hydro-carbon zigzag chains are parallel to one another and inter-act via van der Waals forces.

Project description:The title compound, [Li(2)(SO(4))(C(3)H(7)NO(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a coordination polymer in which the β-alanine residues remain in the zwitterionic form. The crystal structure consists of corrugated sheets of [LiO(4)] and [SO(4)] tetra-hedra parallel to (010) with the β-alanine mol-ecules located between the sheets. The two independent Li(+) cations are four-coordinated by O atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The crystal structure is formed by stacking of alternate organic and inorganic layers along the a axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
