Catena-Poly[[dichloridocobalt(II)]-μ-1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane-κN:N'].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane (bpp) ligands bridge four-coordinate Co atoms, generating an extended one-dimensional zigzag chain. Both the Co and two Cl atoms in the tetrahedral coordination polyhedron lie on a mirror plane, while the bbp ligand is bis-ected through the central C atom in the chain by a second mirror plane. There are some π-π stacking inter-ations in the crystal structure, with inter-planar distances of 3.449 Å, which are responsible for the supra-molecular assembly.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(7)S)(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), the unique Cd(II) ion, located on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two S atoms and two N atoms in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment. Symmetry-related Cd(II) ions are linked via bridging 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands, forming a zig-zag chain-structure parallel to [001]. In the crystal structure, there are weak intra-chain π-π stacking inter-actions between benzene rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.825 (7) Å, and pairs of chains are inter-digitated with respect to the 4-methyl-benzene-thiol-ate groups.

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, {[Mn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) cation is coordinated by two benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one benzimidazole ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted MnNO(5) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, each benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anion bridges adjacent Mn(II) cations through the terminal carboxyl-ate groups, forming a polymeric complex chain along the a axis. One Mn-O(carboxyl-ate) bond is much longer than the others. In the crystal, π-π stacking is observed between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 4.32 (6)°] benzimidazole aromatic ring systems of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance between the imidazole and benzene rings being 3.5421 (11) Å. Extensive inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The two lattice water mol-ecules are located on twofold rotation axes.

Each nicotine mol-ecule is bonded to two Hg atoms, one through the pyrrolidine N atom and the other through the pyridine N atom, forming infinite zigzag polymeric chains. The coordin-ation around mercury is completed by two iodide ligands, resulting in a distorted tetra-hedral arrangement.

The asymmetric unit contains one [Ni(TH)](+) cation (TH is the theophylline anion) and one hydroxide anion. The Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two neighboring theophylline anions. The alternating linkage of the Ni(2+) cation and theophylline anion results in a one-dimensional chain along the [010] direction. Intermolec-ular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present n the crystal structure.
