ABSTRACT: Mol-ecules of the title compound, C(14)H(13)IO(2), exhibit no π-π inter-actions. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 43.72 (9)°. The shortest inter-molecular I⋯O distance is 3.408 (2) Å, which is significantly less than the sum of the van der Waals radii for I and O (3.50 Å).
