1,3-Dicyclo-hexyl-1-isonicotinoylurea monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title organic compound, C(19)H(27)N(3)O(2)·H(2)O, was synthesized from methyl-ene dicyclo-hexyl-amine, 4-pyridine-carboxylic acid and N,N'-dicyclo-hexyl-carbodiimide. The water molecule is involved in inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, linking symmetry-related urea mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular ladder-like structure.

Individual mol-ecular units are engaged in weak C=O⋯C=O inter-actions [O⋯C = 2.814 (10) and 2.871 (11) Å], leading to the formation of supra-molecular chains which close pack, mediated by van der Waals contacts, in the bc plane.

1,3-Dicyclo-hexyl-imidazolidine-2,4,5-trione: a second polymorph.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(22)N(2)O(3), was obtained as a by-product of oxidative cleavage of 1,3-dicyclo-hexyl-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-2-yl)imidazolidine-2,4-dione. Herein, we report the crystal structure of a second polymorph, which was obtained by crystallization from an ethanol solution at 253?K, instead of slow evaporation of the same solvent at room temperature. While the first polymorph [Talhi et al. (2011). Acta Cryst. E67, o3243] crystallized in the non-centrosymmetric space group P2(1)2(1)2(1), this second polymorph crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P2(1)/n. Compared to the first polymorph, in the crystal no C=O?C=O inter-actions were found (C?O inter-molecular distance longer than 3.15?Å) and instead, close packing of individual mol-ecular units is mediated by C-H?? and weak C-H?O inter-actions.

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains propagating in [010], which contain R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs.

Project description:The title urea derivative crystallizes as a monohydrate, C(19)H(27)N(3)O(2)·H(2)O. The central C(3)N grouping is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0092?Å), and the amide and pyridine groups are substanti-ally twisted out this plane [dihedral angles = 62.80?(12) and 34.98?(10)°, respectively]. Supra-molecular double chains propagating along the b-axis direction feature in the crystal packing whereby linear chains sustained by N-H?O hydrogen bonds formed between the amide groups are linked by helical chains of water mol-ecules (linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds). The H atom that participates in these water chains is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy. The double chains are connected into a two-dimensional array by C-H?O contacts and the layers stack along the a axis.

Both cyclo-hexane rings adopt chair conformations. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions occur. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a minor component of 4.8?(1)%.

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(24)N(+)·NCS(-), represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported ortho-rhom-bic form [Khawar Rauf et al. (2008 ?). Acta Cryst. E64, o366]. Two independent formula units comprise the asymmetric unit with the major difference in their mol-ecular structures relating to the relative dispositions of the cyclo-hexyl rings [dihedral angles = 79.88?(6) and 67.72?(5)°]. Further, the independent anions form distinctive patterns of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, i.e. 2 × N-H?N versus N-H?N and N-H?S. The resulting supra-molecular architecture is a supra-molecular chain along the c axis based on a square-wave topology.
