ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(8)H(8)N(2)O(7)S, an inter-mediate in the synthesis of N,N-bis-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-3,5-dinitro-aniline, exists as a discrete mol-ecule; the nitro groups are twisted with respect to the aromatic system [dihedral angles = 17.0?(1) and 26.3?(1)°].

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(15)N(3)O(6), was prepared by the reaction of (3,5-dinitro-benz-yl)methane-sulfonate with diethanol-amine. The asymmetric unit contains four crystallographically independent mol-ecules which differ primarily in their rotation about the bond between the aromatic ring and the N-diethanol unit. The mol-ecules are linked into sheets by a hydrogen-bonding network which involves all of the hydroxy groups, with only van der Waals contacts between the sheets.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(21)H(18)N(+)·CF(3)OS(3) (-), the cations form inversion dimers through π-π inter-actions between the acridine ring systems. These dimers are further linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions. The cations and anions are connected by C-H⋯O, C-F⋯π and S-O⋯π inter-actions. The acridine and benzene ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 76.8 (1)°with respect to each other. The acridine moieties are either parallel or inclined at an angle of 62.4 (1)° in the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Rb(C(7)H(3)N(2)O(6))(C(7)H(4)N(2)O(6))](n), comprises an Rb(+) cation, a 3,5-dinitro-benzoate anion and a 3,5-dinitro-benzoic acid ligand. The Rb(+) cation is nine-coordinated by O atoms from four 3,5-dinitro-benzoate anions and three neutral 3,5-dinitro-benzoic acid ligands. The metal atom is firstly linked by four bridging carboxyl groups, forming a binuclear motif, which is further linked by the nitro groups into a two-dimensional framework along the [110] direction. A short O-H?O hydrogen bond between two adjacent carboxy/carboxylate groups occurs.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(15)NO(5)S, features an approximately planar five-membered oxazolidin ring (r.m.s. deviation = 0.045 Å) with the peripheral benzyl and methyl methane-sulfonate residues lying to either side of the plane. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving one of the sulfur-bound oxo groups as acceptor, lead to the formation of supra-molecular chains along the b axis. These chains are reinforced by C-H⋯O contacts with the carbonyl O atom accepting three such inter-actions. The structure was refined as a racemic twin, with the major component being present 89% of the time.

An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond in the anion generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by cation-to-anion N-H?O and N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds, generating [010] double chains. Weak C-H?O inter-actions consolidate the packing.

Project description:THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 4-diphenyl-methyl-1-(3-phenylprop-2-en-1-yl)-piperazin-1-ium 2-carb-oxy-4,6-dinitro-pheno-late], C(26)H(29)N(2) (+)·C(7)H(3)N(2)O(7) (-), is the dinitro-salicylate salt of a tertiary amine. Deprotonation of the carb-oxy-lic acid group occurred on the phenolic hy-droxy group. The diaza-cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation. Intra-molecular O-H?O and inter-molecular C-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed. The N-H?O hydrogen bonds are bifurcated at the H atom and connect the cinnarizinium and 3,5-dinitro-salicylate ions together. Inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the components into layers perpendicular to the crystallographic a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]CF(3)SO(3), two N atoms from two independent pyridyl rings of two N'-3-cyano-benzyl-ideneisonicotinohydrazide ligands coordinate to the unique Ag(I) ion, forming a nearly linear coordination geometry. Adjacent silver complexes are primarily linked together by Ag?N inter-actions, with Ag?N separations of 2.877?(2) and 3.314?(2)?Å. On the other hand, one CF(3)SO(3) (-) anion inter-acts with hydrazone groups of two neighbouring ligands via N-H?O hydrogen bonds. These weak inter-molecular inter-actions contribute to the formation of supra-molecular chains. In addition, there are Ag?O inter-actions [2.787?(2)?Å] between Ag and O atoms from adjacent chains.
